Two questions:

If I booked a trip through AAA and final pay is not due until May, if codes come out, can I ask the codes to be applied to my vaca with AAA.

Other question is: with codes offered, what kind of discounts are you looking at off of room rate?

last question: If a final payment is not made with AAA, do you know if I will be penalized if I want to change my package deal to just room and no Ultimate Hopper?

We just booked a room with a aaa discount thru the CRO. We were told that a code discount could be applied if one became available. The AAA code was not great, but I was going nuts waiting for a code!
The codes are all different but can be up to 40% off regular rates.
I would not book thru AAA. They can have pretty harsh payment and cancellation rules. The CRO at Disney can get you the same deal with their rules....a lot less strict....IMO.
My AAA deal was AKL for $240 with tax. That's about a 15% discount.

What kind of veiw was that for?? My Akl was alot more with AAA discount. I booked savannah..thanks..amy

You may want to check. If you book a room with CRO using a AAA code, you can change it, BUT if you book with AAA I do not think you can add a code.

I booked a Port Orleans Riverside room through CRO using the AAA code. We are staying during the week of Thanksgiving 2003. The discount was 20%. Now, I'm waiting for code and AP rates to come out this summer for that time period to see if I can do better. If not, I have a room with a discount reserved.

last year, end of may, first of june: we got 10 nights at CSR for $84 per night with AP rate

What is CSO and AP and how do I get access?

AP are Annual Passes & you can get a great education at
www.mousesavers along with reading the posts here.

CRO is Disney Central Reservations Office& they can be reached at (407) W-DISNEY. Sometimes WDTC people answer this line, & they do not always tell you who they are, you really have to ask. What is the difference you ask? Well CRO allows you to cancel or add a code up to 5 days before check-in w/o a penalty, while WDTC I believe is 45 days. Also CRO ressies(reservations) take 1 night deposit & you can pay the balance at the resort, & with WDTC you pay before you play!

If I have missed or misstated anything someone please correct me.

Can you help me out?

I think I was just told, that if you book through AAA you cannot
get a code applied. You have to cancel your original ressie and rebook with the code.

and.. if you used a AAA TA you had to get them to do it (and they
appear somewhat reluctant).

Is this true? and what should I do now?

Ok, I need more info. Did you already book? When are you going & for how long? Where did you want to stay? Can it be cancelled w/o a penalty? If so you can, before cancelling with AAA, book the room that you want with CRO(see my 1 first post in this thread) tell CRO you are a AAA member & they will discount accordingly, then cancel with AAA. Check varies places for the prices of the park hoppers you need; AAA, ticketmania, disney store advance purchase(I know there are more places, but I forget their names). Lastly wait for a code, & call CRO with it. You probably will find that purchasing everything separately is cheaper to begin with.

HTH, let me know if I can help further.

Hi there! Already booked gold plan through AAA TA.
Cancellation without penaly 45 day rule-I'm good until
March. When I called WDW they wouldn't give me any
info-my TA has to make the call. Then I called back-
didn't say anything about already having ressies and
when I mentioned a AAA rate the CM told me I had to
go through a AAA TA-they had a "special line".
Is this normal? or am I just having a bad day?

Oh, mom_rules, things are not gong your way. Please try & call CRO & pretend that you have mnot made any ressies & book the room you want at the resort you want.

You go girl!

I have a great AAA story to tell. We are going April 9, and have booked everything piecemeal to save as much money as possible. We decided to book our room through AAA in order to get their discount. Called the AAA agent and asked about changing ressies or canceling if we found a better deal. Were told, no problem, cancelations can be done up to 5 days before with no loss of money.

Booked a room at ASMu at a price of $113, including tax. Then, about 1 month ago, Disney came out with the rate codes through April 9th. Called AAA, figuring I would need to cancel their ressie and call CRO to book at that rate. AAA told me they can apply the rate, and did!!! We got POR at $119 for the whole stay, as long as we checked in the last day of the rate special!!

53 days to go!

:)

I am definitely a happy camper and so lucky that there is board to get tips and advice. Thank you to everyone. I took your advice about calling CRO and did that yesterday. She applied my AAA member discount, got about $180 off of rack rate, I could apply codes if they come out before MAY. She put my room on a 14 day courtesy hold so I have a chance to get back to my AAA TA and doing some comparison. I really don't think my AAA TA gave me a good deal at all, even though it was what they call Disney month in January. I booked for Aruba with AAA and when I told the CRO that, she said that nothing is guaranteed as to where I would stay. She said that you can put a request for location in, but it is not guaranteed. News to me, the way my AAA TA made it sound, was that we were locked in to the Aruba. She also informed me about the 45 day penalty and we are way ahead of the 45 day mark so if I wanted to cancel my plans with AAA, I can. Thank you all for your advice and tips about getting good deals. I am hopeful for codes to come out before May 17th, even so, at least I know what discount I got with my AAA membership off of rack rates.

Thanks again to all!! Very happy 1st time disney planner:-)

Happy to help :D , when will you be there, & which hotel did you choose?

We will be at WDW May 11-17, & I think we will be at the Swan.
