Hello,
I need to know if it is better to go to the World or Disneyland during Christmas time, and if it is worth it to buy an annual pass if I want to go for more than 6 days.

Thanks.

For the Holidays it is quite a toss up between DLR and WDW. There is not a huge difference that make one or the other better. WDW does have parties in MK that have a few perks that you won't find in DL. Though DL holiday nights are free, they don't require party tickets.

As far as getting an AP, no it won't be worth it. You really don't need more than 6 days at DLR in one visit. An AP will cost you at least $379 and be subject to some black out days.

It's going to be another $120 to get a DLR AP without black out days.

A 6 day PH is only $251, and is not blacked out.

If you could come again within the year, and AP is likely a good idea.

I don't know if there's a right answer for that question. Both parks will offer their own holiday fare. Disneyland will be smaller & more intimate while WDW would be more of a grander affair. I think it would be a matter of preference in what park you like, if you want a party or not, you want to be able to take in most of the holiday activities & decorations in a few days or the need to have more days to see as much as you can.

As for the AP, if you're planning a return trip in the years time...it definitely would be worth the money. I've purchased the premium AP, even when I knew there would only be the one trip....but I have a large family & we used it to get a discounts on all our meals & merchandise & more than paid for the pass before we left.

I'm not sure what people are doing that are looking for longer than the 6 day PH.......it doesn't seem to be possible to buy extended days.......so not sure if they then have to buy a 2nd PH....if that's the case....I'd definitely compare the prices to see if buying the AP would be worth it. There will be some discounts available for the Deluxe & Premium passes....just make sure if you go with the deluxe pass, that none of your days are blacked out.

Good luck with your decisions.......I think you'll be happy with whichever park you chose!!

We are here at Disneyland right now. We had a 6 day hopper and were able to add more days for $5 per person, per day. A couple of notes though - we were given different information depending on the ticket window we went to, and the price per day to add on depends on what you originally paid for the pass.

That's wonderful news to hear......I know there's been a lot of confusion on purchasing a longer pass. Have fun!! :yay:

Christmas happenings at the Disneyland Resort are wonderful. The Park is gorgeous, the entertainment is terrific, and the sweets are yummy!

That said...

There are some pretty amazing things to see at WDW during the holidays that do not exist at Disneyland. For example: There is nothing that even comes close to comparison when it comes to the Osborne Light Show at DHS. It's just incredible and only exists at WDW. Also, storytime around the world at EPCOT (not the proper event name) is pretty wonderful.

I would suggest researching the offerings at both DLR and WDW to see which set appeals to you more.

Also keep in mind crowds. While both get busy during the holidays, WDW can get really really crowded.

HTH,
Dreams
