We haven't had the dining plan since our oldest was under 3, but I'm considering shooting for free dining in the fall if it is offered. The issue I have is that it's very hard to find safe foods for my 3 boys at QS locations. I know of a few locations they can at least manage a partial meal, but they have so many allergies they usually have to alter things quite a bit or leave a lot off the plate. And several times when paying OOP we had to order an allergy free adult meal because there were no safe options on the kid's menu. Most of the time we still paid the adult price, but a few times they charged us for a kid's meal instead.
I'm wondering if anyone has ever dealt with the same situation but when using the dining plan. I've read conflicting reports as to whether or not the children's QS credits have to be used for kid's meals or not. If it worked out that way, where I could use a child's credit for an adult meal, that would be great, but it sounds like experiences vary.
Has anyone else had this problem? Been on the dining plan but had no safe options on the kid's menu for your food allergic child? If so, could you share if they let you use the child's credit or if they charged you OOP for the meal?
TIA!
