question about checking in at POR.

Unfortunately, yes, there will be a big problem. Like every other hotelier in the USA, WDW resorts require ID in order to check in.

Can his father change the name on the reservation? Are the two of you even named on the reservation? Is one of you at least 18 years old?

I made a reservation at Disney for my daughter and her friend. They had no problem putting their names on the room. Of course, at least one must be 18.

My boyfriend and i are going down and staying at POR in July, and my dad booked the trip for us, it is under his name, will there be any problem checking in if he is not present? thanks :goodvibes

When he made the reservation, he should have been asked the names of the people who would be in the room. If he said it would be the two of you, then there is no problem. But if, for some reason, he said it would be him, then you do have a problem. He needs to call back and get your names on that room. It doesn't matter WHO makes the reservation verbally or online. It's the names registered to that room.

Yes there will be problems. Your name isn't on the reservation. It the same as me going in and taking John Smith's room. :confused3

Your dad needs to change the name on the reservation, pronto.

As long as you and your BF are listed on the reservation and one of you is over 18 than its no problem. If your dad is listed as the lead guest then yes, there is a problem but he just needs to call back and make a new res

i know my dad put us both on as guests and not himself, he just booked it for us using his credit card. but we are both 18. I'll call just to make sure. thank you for your help! :thumbsup2

I think too that if you dad used any kind of discount/code, he has to be there at check-in for you to receive that rate. For example, if your dad booked with an AAA rate, he and his AAA card would have to be there in order for you to receive the discounted rate

as long as your name is on the reservation it shouldnt be a problem. your father could also fax a copy of his license and CC used to create the reservation to the resort. My mother did that once when she booked the hotel for my and my friends when we went away once. we didnt have a problem at all

There will be a problem. My wife and I had this happen to us one time, andit just happened to be PO-Riverside. I had a room reseervation in my name. At the time, we were living in South Georgia and my wife, my daughter and her friends left earlier that I did with another group that was staying off-site. I had something at work I needed to do before I left and drove down about 4 hours behind the other group. My wife tried to check-in and couldn't do so. This was pre-cell phone and $4 gas era. She and her friends went to DowntownDisney and made the most of it until I arrived. I asked for our room and was notified that I was the one who had to check-in. All worked out well as we checked-in and headed over to the River Roost to hear Bob Jackson and have a drink. You need to get the reservation in your name.

If the ressie is in his name they may not release any info to you. There's this pesky thing called the privacy act that prevents them from doing so. Now if you have the reservation # you can look at the ressie on WDW website at the info. But you'll have to create an account first if you don't have one.
