I posted this on the FAQ hotel thread above, but no responses yet. So, I'm trying to repost it..

So I am coming down for our first PBH stay. We usually do Disney, and have not done US in several years. I do know we can use our room key to charge meals (which is awesome as I paid in full at booking and have since got a APH rate-so resort credit ). Is there a list somewhere of quick service/fast food spots at the hotels/parks/CityWalk that do or do not accept credit cards/hotel charging?

Thanks in advance for any and all info!

Not sure if there is a list but we have used the charge to room key for several years. I have yet to find any quick service restaurant or food stand that fail to accept a room key as payment...especially in the parks. The only instance that we had issues was at a couple of full service restaurants in Citywalk and that was a couple of years ago.

We came across a few of the outdoor portable type carts in the parks that were cash only but that was it.

Thank you both for your help. Glad to hear!!!!

I could be wrong but I don't believe Moe's, Burger King and Panda Express don't take the room charge. All above are at City Walk. We did have dinner at Nascar one night and we asked the waitress if we could use our room charge and she said yes. She did say it was going to take a little longer though since she had to call the front desk of RPR. So we just said oh we do have a credit card on us if that would make it easier for you and she said yes that would. :thumbsup2

When we checked in at the Portofino, I guess they forgot to ask us if we wanted to link our room key to a credit card. We charged meals to our room when we were at Universal Studios, but the third time we presented our room key it was denied. Apparently, there was a $100/day limit on our charging privileges- which does not go very far for a family of four in any theme park!

So you may want to make sure that you address this when you are checking in!

We didn't eat at BK, or Panda Express, but charged to our room at Moe's on 2 occasions without any issue.

I encountered the same as Samandmom a few restaurants and stores in citywalk. Nascar being one of them.

We are just back, and charged everything to my room key. Like pp said, the carts do not have the system to allow room key or CC , so everywhere else would be fine.
Not sure about the $100 limit, as i bought a Bracelet for DW from fresh produce, some items from the Universal store and paid for meal at Pastamore , it all was a lot more than $100, and all went through without any problems.

what rpbert1 said.

i have charged back to the room many times over the years.
food, merch in the park and city walk.

carts can not take the hotel card though for charges.

when you check in, tell the TM at the hotel the amount of charges you will allow per day to your credit card.

they do the $100 limit per day in case you lose you card and someone else charges on it.
that gives you the opportunity to contact your cc company immediately when you are aware of unauthorized charges have been made.

Fantastic info..THANK YOU!

macraven I will definitely clarify the limits when we check in!

pas130, i always make it an amount over what i think i will spend.

each evening when you return to the hotel, you can stop by the front desk and review the charges that have come in during the day.

you can check on the tv daily charges.
or you could last time i was there.

That's great. Especially since we have 2 character meals planned during our visit. I want to be sure I have plenty allotted for that too :thumbsup2
