Question about changing hotels after checking in

One of my nagging concerns after spending four nights back in 2012 on a cot because all Pop Century had were King Beds. If that happens and I can't change rooms, How can I change hotels without losing the deposit at my current hotel? I would even go Value at full price in that situation. I'm doing everything in my control to get a double bed even using Touring Plans Fax Service. This is an absolute worst case scenario, but one I want to make sure I know about. Thanks for the help on this question.

Ugh. I didn't even know that Disney did that to people. Good luck!

My friend and I opened our door to find a king bed. Ummm, no. We're close, but not sleeping together close! Went back and got a different room. We were told that we would have been moved to a different resort if we couldn't have a room that met our needs!! No way would I pay to sleep in a cot! Not when my friend had a king size bed!!

They didn't even do that back in 2012 and I asked for that. It's why I'm willing to go that far. You should never put a 70 something women and her 38 year old son in the same bed ever. I will push harder on this issue the next time.

We've only switch hotels once and it was for one night, so pretty easy to accommodate. The room should not have been in service and we were completely unwilling to stay there. We asked to be moved to another value, but because of availability we were moved to a moderate. We were not asked to pay the difference.

Unless its peak season, there should be another option. As long as you are asking to do a lateral move, I would be slow to pay the difference, especially since we always cash reservations with a discount. I would not be happy paying rack rate for a more expensive resort because of an issue like this.

I guess it's nice that Disney doesn't care about 'relationships', but, it would be nice to save King rooms for those who request them! So many say they weren't able to get one, you have to wonder if someone who didn't want the room had one.

I am okay with a lot of "inconveniences" but this is not one of them. I would not have stayed there, not even on a cot.
