Question about Castle Tour Line

I'm so excited to do the Hogwarts Castle Tour, but I have a question about the line.

If the line is very long and snakes outside the castle gates, do I have to stand in it to do the castle tour? Or can I let a worker know that I'd just like to do the castle tour and be let in? Or will there be two lines outside the castle - one for the ride and one for the tour?

For the castle tour line, you go straight to the main entrance of Hogwarts and let a TM know. You don't get in the normal line. If you are not sure just ask a TM before you get in any lines.
