Question about Cancelling and banking

OK here is the problem I want to book a room for May 30th thru June 3rd. There is a small chance that I will not be able to go I would know before 31 days. Do I get those points back and can I bank them for the next year? I have to bank before May 31st. Or do I lose them or are they put into holding so confused?

Did you borrow any? if not as long as you cancel before the 31 days and bank before your deadline, you can bank them.
