Question about canceling only part of a reservation

I have made a reservation for 7 nights at FW for a partial hookup site to coincide my sister and her family coming down over Memorial Day (5/26-6/2/10). Right after I made the reservation, I found out at work that I will not be able to get all of the days off and would have to cancel for 5/26, and 5/31-6/2).

My question is this: Does anyone have experience canceling just part of a reservation? I don't want to end up losing my entire reservation since my sister will be staying at the Grand Floridian and I would love to get to spend as much time as possible with her.

No problem! :)

Agreed, no problem. Just call CRO and tell them the dates you need to drop.

Thanks for the answers! I had such a hard time even getting this reservation that I really don't want to screw it up. I am so excited about this trip. It will be our third trip to the Fort. We live in Orlando, so it is an easy long weekend for us.

My sister is coming from Kansas with her two girls (almost 6 and 3 years old) and her sister in law and two nieces and maybe their nephew. They have Cinderella's Magic Table ressies Thursday night and then Bippity Bobbity Boutique on Saturday. They got three day tickets to the parks, so at least one day, maybe two we will be looking for things to do that don't involve the parks. They are staying at Grand Floridian and my folks will be coming from home each day. It should be tons of fun!

If the CM does happen to give you a hard time just keep the resie as is and call back the next CM will most likely not. I have had them give me a hard time about dropping from a week to only the weekend on a holiday.

I had one tell me the same thing. If you try and book extra days to get a few, they may make you cancel everything. Contrary to what every one here say's. But try again, it does seem they all have different ideas of what the rules are.

Of course the obvious answer would be for you to quit your job and keep the ressies as they are. :cloud9: Or call in sick from the Fort. You could then extend until your money runs out. :rotfl2: Have a safe and happy trip. :cool1:

My husband has already replied to this but I want to add: We have had to call and cancel reservations for the first 3 nights due to the death of our precious 33 month old (who died on the way to WDW). They had not problem changing our check in date. We have also left a day or so early and they have always given us a credit for those nights. This past year, due to all the rain, we decided at the last minute to leave 2 days ealy and even though we were way after 11
checking out, they still did a credit for the 2 nights. They told us they normally have to charge for 1/2 day when it is that late but they were not going to charge us and they didn't.
We find that for the most part they are very easy to work with and accomodating.
