Question about canceling a booking and changing a name

Our family currently has two rooms booked for the Fantasy, May 19, 2018. DH and me in one, and DD and her BFF in the other.

There is a possibility that DH will not be able to go, and we're still not 100% certain DD's friend will be going either.

If they end up canceling, will we be able to cancel my daughter's room, have her travel in my husband's place? Or, will it have to be a new booking? The other thing is, DH and I are currently booked at 10% off as we rebooked this onboard last September. This will be our daughter's first Disney cruise since 2013.

Depends on when you are making the change what options are available for you.

My suggestion is to move your daughter into your room and put your husband on the other room. If nobody cancels and you keep both rooms, you can just sort out the key cards once onboard, and everyone can sleep in whatever room they want.

But, if hubby and BFF have to cancel, you can just cancel the one room, no problem.

You can move people around, but remember when calling DCL to do so to say "you want to make a CHANGE" to the reservation. Don't (ever) say "CANCEL" at any point.

Your room will still have the 10% discount, as long as you remain on that reservation.

after some point - possibly PIF date, there can be a charge to change names on a reservation.

When I inquired about making a change after PIF date for our upcoming cruise, (simple request just switching 2 people around) I was quoted a minimal amount, around $30 to make the change.
