Question about camping/packages

Does everyone at your campsite have to be on the same package? Our family will most likely want a package. 2 people we may be traveling with will probably only want to go to the parks 1 maybe 2 days. I know in the resorts everyone in the room has to be on the plan.

It would be the same at FW. All people staying in a room or cabin would need to be on the same package.

HOWEVER, one thing you could try is add them AFTER you arrive. The folks at the front desk have lots of flexibility to do that whereas Reservations does not.

Then they could go to any ticket window and purchase whatever ticket media they need.

Another option is if tickets is the only thing on the package, then get your package with 1-day tickets for everyone. Then once you arrive, each individual person can upgrade to whatever ticket you want.

Now if you are dealing with the Dining Plan, then that is a different story.

I've been doing alot of research and from what I can tell, if your staying at the campsites (not the cabins), there is absolutely no gain from booking a package deal. If you purchase everything separate, it should be the same price. It actually hinders you to book a package. For instance, if you book 7 nights and decide to leave on the 5th night, there is no penalty for doing so without a package. If you have a package, you will loose the extra 2 nights because they cannot break up the package. This info is straight from the reservations desk. So, why not just wait until you arrive to figure out which days to go and which days not to per individual.

The only disadvantage is that you will get paper tickets and not the pass type. However, if you add the tickets to your reservations prior to arrival, they will then issue you the pass type, just make sure they don't try to stiff you with a package.

If anyone knows anything different please inform me, I'm always looking for a better deal.

We've saved a little when booking a FW package through AAA during certain times of the year - but it's not much. You do get the extra perks (coupons, parking pass...)

The one advantage to a package would be if you wanted the Dining Plan - can't do that otherwise.
