Question about BWI

particularly the water view rooms versus the standard view rooms.

(1) Are the water view rooms worth the extra money (generally at least $100 more per night)?

(2) Am I less likely to get a discount on a water view room than a standard view? (the reason I ask this is that I've heard the water view rooms typically sell out several months in advance)

(3) If I decide to go standard view, where should I request (or alternatively, where should I try to avoid)?

We've only stayed in a BWI water view room, so I really can't compare the two. We waited a LONG time to stay at BWI, finding the right discount at the right time because we only wanted a water view. It was soo worth the wait, our water view room was excellent. We spent a lot of time in the room vs. parks when we stayed, so to have the beautiful view and a wonderful centralized location was perfect. Now that we've stayed with a water view room, I'm not sure I'd want anything else but that if we stay again.
But we chose to spend the $ for that particular stay at the resort vs. parks, etc.

As with any vacation, or resort, spending the extra money has to be weighed with what your purpose for the trip is and what you are realistically willing to spend.

As far as discounts for water rooms, all discounts are subject to availablility as to when you are planning to go. If you know what you want, when you want it, keep looking daily. I didn't have a problem with the discount, but it was January, a non-peak time.

1) In terms of the view itself their Water View rooms are great because you can see all the action happening on the Boardwak.

2) On previous discounts I have seen the Water View rooms available, so I guess it depends on how many they have available with a specifc discount.

3) With a Standard View request a Garden/France Pavilion view. The other type of view you can end up with is a view of the Boardwalk main entrance/driveway.
