I'm hoping somebody will know the answer to this. My 2 year old LOVES Buzz. We watched the planning dvd recently to get them used to the idea of going to WDW (my DD tends to be a little afraid of stuff so we wanted to prepare both of them). Well, now my son is obsessed with this ride. Everyday at naptime and bedtime he says, 'Mommy, ask you something. Me ride Buzz ride when me 3 years old?". He'll tell anybody who will listen!!!! I'm starting to get a little worried now though. We are going in "Value Season" (12/2-12/9). I have gone many times before in Value Season and know that means rides may be closed for maintenance/refurbishment. Does anyone know when and if the Buzz ride usually does this? I'm wondering if I should be preparing him for the possiblity that he may not ride it. What do you think?

Buzz is a pretty popular ride. Everytime we've gone down during Value season, Buzz has always been open. In fact, this is the first ride we go to on EMH mornings! We can get about 5-6 rides back-to-back before more people come! Since Nov 03, I haven't had Buzz down for refurb.

Oh, BTW, he doesn't have to wait till he's 3 to ride Buzz. My son's ridden it since he was 2! My kids absolutely love Buzz.

You should be able to check www.disneyworld.com for refurbishment schedules. I think mousesavers.com has that info as well - I know it's in the email newsletters if you sign up for that.

Thankfully, the most recent newsletter I got does NOT list Buzz Lightyear as closing for refurbishment anytime soon. DD and I LOVE going on that ride together. :-)

Our son rode it when he was 3 1/2 and loved it, still talks about it to this day and can't wait to go on it again (this fall! :cool1: ), 2 years is too long to wait to go back!

he'll love it

Thanks for all the info. He says he will ride it when he is three because we told him we aren't going until after his birthday (trying to set up a time line for him). I need to pull out the video camera one of these days though because it sounds so darn cute!!
