Hi...you memebers are so helpful...we are going to buy SSR...my question is...once we are a member...we can buy some extra add on points when available...if we can get some BCV extra points...does that mean we could book that 11 months out even if we have 250 points at SSR and only have 50 at BCV? Also...how hard is it to buy the extra points from disney..I know there would be a wait list....thanks.............amy :earsgirl:

Hi,

We just added on with a 50 Pt HH contract. The problem is that you can only book a room at BCV with the 50 Pts you have there at the 11 month mark. You cannot move the SSR points over in order to give you a greater advantage. Many members will reserve some of the hard to get nights at the 11 month mark and then reserve the rest at the 7 month mark using other resort points. As I understand it sometimes it works out and sometimes it does not.

Yes, you can buy add on points at the BCV (if/when available) even if you initially buy at SSR.

You would only have the 11 month booking advantage at BCV for the 50 points of the add on. Youcould not use SSR points at the BCV until the 7 month window opens.

Some members borrow and bank to increase the number of points with the booking advantage. For example, with 50 BCV points, you could bank and borrow and have up to 150 points every third year at the BCV with the 11 month booking advantage.

HTH. Best wishes -

If your preference is to stay mostly at BCV, you could buy into SSR with the minimum and add on points at BCV when they become available or through a non-Disney resale. As Carol said, you need to get enough BCV points to get at least one stay every three years with the points you will have for that resort in order to book an entire ressie at 11 months there. That is what home resort advantage is all about.
