Question about bringing laptops

I see many people make reports on the board while they are at DLR. So, I just wondered, where do you leave your laptop when you leave your hotel room? Do you worry about it getting stolen? Does is depend on where yous stay? That is our concern and is why we never bring it. I would love to though, so maybe other people have come up with ideas about this.

HOJOs had a laptop locker in our room. We didn't have a laptop so we didn't use it, but it was there.

I plan to bring my laptop and I've heard that there are safes in the rooms at Hojo's that will accomodate. I'd check with your hotel ahead of time perhaps.

We've taken laptops on almost every overnight visit to DL and on every visit to WDW. Never had a problem in any Disney-owned hotel.

Frankly, I've never had a problem at other hotels around the country, either. I used to be a corporate trainer for a medical imaging company and travelled 100% for work - from small towns to major cities. Never had a problem for the 3 years I did that!

HOJOs had a laptop locker in our room. We didn't have a laptop so we didn't use it, but it was there.

I never noticed the laptop lockers before, are they new? I wonder if they are only in certain room types. We always stay in the double queen rooms in Bldg 2 and are staying there again next month. It would be handy to have as we always like to bring our laptop to check our e-mails.

I brought my laptop to the Disneyland Hotel earlier this month and kept it on the desk. My computer locks after being idle for 30 minutes. I had no qualms about leaving it in the room.

we have brought our laptop on every trip, no matter which hotel.

we have never had a problem at any of them (DLH, PP, HoJo, Ramada Inn, Dessert Inn, Hawthorne Suites).

I keep it on and plugged in the whole time. I guess I'm too trusting??

We have always brought ours with us and never had a problem. We stay at the Desert Inn.

I travel a fair amount and always with my laptop, even to DL and WDW. Usually I lock it in the in-room safe, but have been known to leave it out charging. Never had a problem and really have not been too worried.

We always bring ours... and it is just fine. We haven't had a problem. However, we do a good backup pre just in case. We are also fortunate though that DH has a company computer. Because of the nature of his work, the computer has to be password protected with this MASSIVELY insane password. It also locks out the hard drive without a second password after so many wrong attempts. The hard drive also won't work if taken out of the computer and put into another. So we feel pretty dang secure.

I always bring my laptop wherever we go and have always left it in my room. Never had a problem...

We used the hotel Safety Deposit for our lappy, passports, etc. Only takes a few seconds to drop off and pick up.

Ok, thanks. You just always hear of thousands of people's identities being stolen because some idiot was walking around with all that info on laptop. We don't have anything that secret but would hate to loose the laptop. My DH bought his own laptop for work and it has all his grades and grade book programs, etc on it. I guess the best thing to do is call the hotel.

You can also buy locks that attach to the laptop and lock it to a table. But in all honesty, Iv'e left my laptop on desks or hidden in a suitcase at dozens of hotels with no issues.

well last time i stayed at the GCH, and I left my laptop in my cary-on bag. But what I would do, is I would take the lock off of my suitcase and put on that bag. Then I would place that in the closet. I had no issues. Good luck

When we left our hotel room I always put my laptop inside my locked suitcase. It was fine

We always bring our laptop on any trip. Normally, we will put it in the laptop bag and keep it with our luggage in the closet.

Yikes, I don't want them playing with my stuff. Guess it is best to put things like that away out of site at least.

I have taken my laptop on many vaca's and never had a prob left it out on desk and in suitcase maybe i too am too trusting but heck my mind is usually on having fun and not on maid serice ripping off my identity....

While staying at the GCH this past week I left my laptop out on the table and it was always there when we returned to our room every time!
