Question about Bride and Groom ears!

I'm asking this here because I really don't know!

My boyfriend has dropped a few hints that he's going to be proposing while we're in Disney for NYE. I don't know any more than that though...

I guess my question would be... if he does, AFTER he does, would it be tacky for us to wear the bride and groom ears since we will be getting married? Or is that something that's reserved for honeymooners and people who are getting married at Disney? Would we be frowned upon?

I don't really know the etiquite of this stuff so I figured I'd ask some Disney brides who know!

WDW is about you being in a fairy tale place. The CM will often ask if you are honeymooning (because you can honeymoon at 50years) just got married of getting married and Im sure they'll be just as nice as if you were just married. After all an engagement is right up there with the wedding, because you're planning it. So it's your vacay, if he proposes, do what makes you happy! If you want they also have pins you can wear, they're less in your face, but cast members still notice them, it's they're job to.

The important thing is that you both want to wear the hats to celebrate and this means that CM's will ask you as may other guests and you can tell them you just got engaged, and how wonderful is that?!! This way you'll be able to announce to everyone there.

Honestly there are no hard fast rules for this, I see Anniversary couples wearing them so why can't Engaged couples - it's up to you and what you feel comfortable with.

Let us know how it goes - after all NYE isn't that far away

I proposed right behind the castle. Some CMs happened to be in the corner and one of them went into a store a came out with the bride/groom ears and gave them to us.

We wore them for most of the day, but after everyone was asking us about when/where we were married, we put them in our backpack. But it was such a great idea and we enjoyed them.

Hehe I'll definately let you guys know how it goes... I just love the ears so much and would want to tell everyone that I had just gotten engaged!

I want to have a Disney wedding so badly, but I know it can't happen ever due to family... so this is the closest I will get. I want to be able to enjoy it, and didn't know if some people would look down on it or anything. Never hurts to ask!

I agree! if you want to wear them, then wear them! An engagement is equally as magical!
