Apologies if this question has been asked zillions of times before but I was just wondering something regarding annual passes and booking room only.
For example, our trip for 2 adults for 3 nights in October cost just over £350; this includes park tickets for 4 days.
So… when you book room only if you have an annual pass do they take away the cost of what the park tickets would be for them 4 days and then work out the price of the room, or do they just take a percentage off the £350 depending on the type of pass you have and when you go??

Hi Poppie,

As I understand it, DLRP has a completely separate price list for room only versus package. So its not based on a percentage of your package price.

The discount you get with your AP depends on the type of AP, the time of year you are going, and what the room rate is at that time (you won't find this out anywhere unless you phone Disney and ask, and even then, they may not tell you the starting-point room rate :confused3 ).

They will, however, give you a quote based on your AP type, for whichever hotels/dates you are interested in.

Example for me - one adult, one child, midweek November 07. Package price total £311. Room only, with Dream AP discount, total price £96.

Wow, that's quite a saving, i know it depends on when you go but even so.
I think i will seriously consider getting passes in October.

You might be cheaper getting an offsite hotel for October, if you're intending buying your APs then too. As you'd get an offsite hotel for 2 of you, in October, for less than £350 (I'm paying 75 euro per night for 2 at the Explorers this next trip, including breakfast).

Your AP is your park ticket also, and then you're set to get your onsite hotel discount for any future trips within the year that your AP is valid for.

Sadly the October trip is already booked and paid for.
I can either get the Anuual passes during that trip use them for money off in the restaurants and shops and then i will be able to book room only for the next trip after that.
Or i can leave getting them this trip and then do exactly what you said when i hopefully go in Spring 2009, book somewhere like Explorers and then get Annual Passes rather than park tickets.
Not too sure which is best.
