Question about booking/overlapping use year?

Hello all, Just kind of playing around on the DVC site to get an idea of how many points it would be for early December. I am not planning on going this year, but was thinking perhaps in the future I may do this to celebrate my December birthday. Anyway, I used the dates November 30 to December 7th, and I got a message that says I can't book a trip that overlaps use years. Could someone please explain this to me? My use year is December. Does this mean I will never be able to go in December? Thanks.

The online system simply can not book a trip that crosses your use year, for instance for you, a stay starting in November and ending in December. You just need to call Member Services to make that reservation. I often travel in the May/June crossover of my June use year.

I think the online system has glitchy problems crossing a use year because it would have some points coming from one use year, and some points from another, even though the online system allows banking and borrowing.

If all of your travel dates were in November, or all in December, you could book that online. Whenever your stay dates cross your use year, you need to call to book the reservation.

You should be able to book the part in November and then call MS to add the rest of nights. If you do this you won't have to wait to book the rest. I would definitely do this for the 1st week of December since resorts can fill up fast.
