Question about booking free dining (booking issues)

Hi,

Do you think that I will have trouble changing my reservations at the POP for the free dining if I get it done on the first day? I already have a room and DDP and MYW tickets for 7 days. Just wondering if you think that I will have an issue of Free DDP packages running out on the first day?

I am prepared to tell my TA to change our ressies to a different value resort if she has to or upgrade to a mod if need be...only if needed though to get the free dining (I hope I don't have to upgrade...I would like to get the value and save the money for spending down there.

I spoke with a CM yesterday in reservations as I have the same situation except my current reservations are at ASMu... she told me that as long as there was availability there would be no problem. The big question is how much availability there will be. There have been several posts saying that there will be limited Free Dining Plans available for the Value Resorts and then another set of posts saying that the FDP is set up to fill the Value Resorts... I don't think anyone can give you a fair answer to your question unfortunately...

I try keeping in mind how things went last year. They ended up extending the period in which you could book the free dinning by quite a bit....because they wern't getting the rooms filled. I also try and keep in mind that just because there is SO much talk here on the DIS about Free DDP...not everyone else in the world planning on or thinking about doing a Disney vacation knows about it...I know...Totally hard to believe that not everyone knows about the DIS and all the info we share here. And last I keep reminding myself....that just because we've been planning a trip to the world during this time not everyone here talking about it is planning on going during the same time

Absolutely Jill! So many people on the DIS boards are speculating and taking all the rumours to be fact and we know that rumours are just that - not true until confirmed with WDW.

And you're right, a lot of people here may be planning on taking advantage of the free dining, but not all at once and not all at the same resort!
