Well here I am already planning next years trip. hee hee. ;)
My question is...

if I make a reservation now, are my points used now? so what if I change my reservation or room or resort or dates? what if I cancel?
so basically....what is the point of no return?

thanks !!

You can't make multiple reservations without having the points to hold the reservations. The only time you completely lose your points is if you don't cancel and don't check-in. Your points for the whole trip are forefeited at that point.

31 days or further from your arrival date, you can cancel and re-book with no penalty. (Think of any "change" that you make as actually being a cancellation adn rebooking). 31 days out, your points go into "holding". This means you can use them for trips that you book 60 days or less before your arrival. These points also can't be banked.

What about if I want to book an international exchange? when do the points actually come out of my acct?
thanks

At the time you accept the exchange is the usual method though I am aware of at least one exception.
