Question about booking between 7-11 months out availability

I'm a renter and for the past 2 trips I've been ready to book at exactly 11 months out. Right now I'm probably going to do that again because I want to go in early December 2019 which I know is a very busy time for DVC and WDW in general. That being said, if I wanted to go in a less popular time like May or June is booking 11 months to the day still absolute necessary? If you book 9 or 10 months out is that going to be about the same as booking a few days after the 11 month window?

I hope what I'm asking makes sense.

There’s a thread that talks about resort availability that could help you. In general, the first week of December and through the second week is the highest demand for DVC units. Point values go up a bit on December 16, I believe. So the first two weeks are popular and a bargain!:thumbsup2

As far as the other times, it could depend what you want, but in general 9-10 months would be safe for many kinds of villas.

I should have mentioned I'm looking for studios which I know makes it the hardest category.

I have booked studios for BCV at less than 11 months for May.

In general, I think May will be a bit easier than June, but I would not try less than 8 months out if I was serious about what I wanted.

I TRY to book and not change at around 10 months for most of the year.

It still depends. A studio at SSR, not a problem to wait. A SV Studio at BWV or BLT - book at eleven months. Nine months PROBABLY won't be a problem in June.
