Question about booking 11 months out then looking whats available @7?

Hi

Just wondered if this was possible. I own at SSR and am coming from the uk. Our trip will be 14 days long. i wondered when its 11 months out, rather than booking one 14 night reservation is it possible to book a 4 night, then 10 night and link them? When its 7 months out I would like to try for another resort (the 4 night stay) If somethings not available I always have my home booking to fall back on.

Does this make sense and can you do it?

Yes. Be careful though that they don't merge them. I recommend using name variants on one or the other so the guest list doesn't match perfectly.

MS can drop nights at either end of your reservation so they can drop and make your new reservation at 7 months.

OP could do it that way -- but the advantage of having two different reservations allows the OP to switchover online without having to call into MS. That hour head start could make or break the strategy.

Yes. But don't have MS link them until you know you'll be staying there otherwise they'll actually just merge and you'll be no better off than just booking 14 nights at once.

So, I suppose book the first with one name, and the second with the other name. Then, MS would not merge them into one.

Or, if your name is Mary Elizabeth Smith, book one as Mary Smith and one as ME Smith.
