question about blanks

I am planning a christmas vacation to Disneyland with my family and sister's family. My kids love christmas shirts and wear them all season so I was beyond super excited to find this forum but I have to admit I'm nervous to make a request and break some of the rules.
One rule I am concerned about is many DISngers don't like giving blanks but I am not at all comfortable having my kids' names on their shirts. Maybe in the happiest place on earth it'd be okay but once we got home I would not let them wear them in public and part of the fun of the shirts are that wearing them brings back the memories. Paranoid? yes. I would like the year and the park so I suppose it wouldn't be blank.

I guess my question is will people be mad if I ask for a blank shirt?

You can ask,I don't think anyone will be mad.
BUT
Please understand that many people here don't (Post Blanks) because their DISigns have been taken and sold on Etsy and Ebay.

You might use last name so it isn't blank as in Jones Family Vacation 2014 or something like that. I worried about that when my kids were younger too but they are to an age when they know someone calling them by their first name doesn't mean they know them.

Or do an initial. Like just a D in Mickey ears for Danielle. It still keeps it personalized and fun for them without giving any details to strangers.

Some designers won't do only initials. Some will, some won't. Ask!

Thank you all. I guess I need to work on my request and ask as you all say and see what happens. My nephew is 5 and would run to anyone who called him by name I think. I really appreciate the input, I better get busy. so many great ideas out there that people have worked hard on. Too sad that people take advantage of it.
