Question about becoming a Cast Member and Annual Passes!

Hi all!
I'm new here and I have a question that I think I know the answer to but would like to clarify. I am currently an annual pass holder and I know under normal circumstances you can't just cancel it if you're making monthly payments. What happens if you become a cast member? Is there any way to cancel it then? It seems silly to be paying for an annual pass if I will be able to get into the parks without it.

Are you already a cast member? If you are, take your ID to DTD and explain to them at Guest Relations and see what they say

I would NOT mention anything about wanting to trade it in if hired.

Thank you so much, everyone! I applied for the best role that was available because I figured that getting my foot in the door was more important than waiting for the role I really want. I can always go after it once I'm in, right?
I definitely won't mention that I want to trade in my AP at the interview.
I'm so so excited! My interview is next Thursday. I can't WAIT!!!!

Ok I know nothing official but my daughter was an AP holder when hired and she did not ask about a refund --- honestly it was one of those things that we though "shoot, wish she hadn't just gotten that AP!, but too bad for us." Then after her AP expired I read somewhere that being hired is only one of few exceptions to getting a refund or partial refund on an AP. Of course at that point it was moot and I can't even tell you where I read it - probably on a thread here. Cheshire Figment may know the specifics though.

I think you have to stay in your role 6 months before trying to switch. I know I have heard my daughter and her friends reference something like that before. I also know a lot of people don't want quick service so it would be a good way to get your foot in the door.

Nice - you should mention it during your interview. That might require changing divisions...not sure on the rule on that. I know my daughter has a friend that wants to change from attractions to events and there is something special she has to do.

Be very careful with DRC - try and talk to some CM's there before you make up your mind. The revenue goals are very challenging. My mom worked there for 3 years - if you would like a realistic run down of DRC message me. Ask other CM's around the parks what they think about DRC - you'll get some colorful responses.

I promise I'm not trying to rain on any parades - just that it is an EXTREMELY tough job and if you quit or get let go for not making revenue, there is a 6 month waiting period before you can apply to another Disney position. If there are other positions available - keep an open mind. Good luck with whatever you decide
