Question about BC transportation...

Hi everyone,

I'm just curious about what happens if you stay at the BC (or any of the Epcot resorts) and you walk to Epcot, take the monorail over to MK, and MK is open later than Epcot. What happens if you take the monorail back to Epcot? Are there buses waiting to take you back to the Epcot resorts? Do they let you walk through Epcot to get back? Or do you just have to take a bus from MK back? Does anyone know how that works?

If Epcot is closed, they won't let you enter for any reason, and there are no buses from the front of Epcot to BC. You would need to take a direct bus from MK to BC in this situation.

I'll just add that while it can be fun to walk through Epcot to catch the monorail to MK while you're staying at BC, it's going to take far, far longer than taking the bus from BC to MK. Probably over an hour, as opposed to 20 minutes or so by bus.

Just take the bus back to the BC. Taking the 2 monorails and walking through Epcot takes a really, really long time anyway. We did it once, just for fun, but I wouldn't recommend it as "quick" transportation.

I agree. It's something like 2 miles from the monorail to the Epcot resorts. We always take the bus to and from MK unless we want to go into Epcot for some reason.

Just wanted to chime in and tell OP that we did that exact thing once when we first started staying at BC. We monorailed back to Epcot and it had just closed and we thought for sure we could walk through because stray people were still leaving the park. But they wouldn't allow us to enter. We had our kids sound asleep in the jogger and were trying to find a way to avoid a bus. They ended up calling someone to drive us back to BC and so we had to wake the kids and fold the jogger anyway. In any event, we do like walking through Epcot mainly due to the jogger and we also really enjoy it. We stop along the way for drinks/snacks while our kids sleep. We've just learned to return to Epcot before it closes.....!

Thanks everyone! I know it's a pretty far walk to the monorail from BC, I just love taking the monorail any chance I get! I'll most likely have a rental car anyway so we'll probably end up driving there instead of dealing with the buses on the way back.

It is too bad they don't let you walk back through Epcot after it's closed...they should have a pathway or something!

Some member of my family have on occasion gone through Epcot going to or from the MK area including the resorts. It depends on plans and mood. It is not the fastest way to get to or from the MK for certain.

As first replier said, there are no buses from Epcot to the Epcot resorts. We were there late one night and had gone thru Future World for some reason (I think to go to the camera store? I can't remember.) We thought we'd just go out the front and take a bus back instead of walking all the way through World Showcase and back to the Dolphin hotel. We then realized the resorts didn't have a bus spot...we were lucky that they let us in since the park just closed not too long before (but they were not happy, and told us to hurry.) We also had a park hopper (which would be necessary for going back through the park.) I would just play it safe and take a bus from MK back to your resort.
