Question about banked points

Hi there--

I have a question about banked points. I just banked 77 points that were from 2011. When do I have to use theses points by? I looked at the member website and it said August of this year! Why do banked points expire so soon? We do not have any intention of returning before August, so my next question is, if these points do indeed expire in August, what do I do if we cant use them? How do I go about renting them out if that is what I need to do? Very new to this, please help!

If they were 2011 UY points, they should now be in your 2012 UY and they expire at the end of that UY. I am assuming you have an August UY, so they should be available for use from 8/1/12 - 7/31/13. On the member website, you should no longer see 2011 points and your 2012 points should reflect those banked points.

When you go to book a trip during your 2012 UY, MS should use the banked points before the original 2012 UY points, but sometimes you have to remind them to use those banked points first.

When you bank, your 2011 points become 2012 points with the same rules. When you borrow 2013 points, they become 2012 points with the same rules. The points can only banked or borrowed once.

Are you sure your banking transaction went through? If it did, your 2011 use year should show no available points (assuming the 77 you wanted banked were the balance of what you had left), and your 2012 use year should show the extra 77.

As previous posters have said, August 2011 points that have been banked should be valid for use 8/1/12 through 7/31/13. It's unbanked August 2011 use year points that expire on 7/31/12.
