This will be our first time visiting with an infant, so Im not sure how this works. We have 3 fast passes for the Mine Train. Can we walk all walk in together, me and our oldest ride the coaster while husband and baby wait at the front...and then hubby ride when we get back? Is that how it works? Can our oldest ride again with him, or does have to ride by himself? Thanks.

You wont be able to enter the line with someone who doesn't meet the height requirement.

They do rider swap but the rider who can't ride can't physically enter the ride. Since you have FP+ for everyone else in the party you can just ride in turns since the FP window is 1 hr.

So Disney doesnt do baby swap?

They do. The way you explained it is how it works, but your husband and baby won't go through the line. They'll give you swap ticket and then your husband can ride with your oldest again.

They just don't let kids who are too small go through the lines at all.

She didn't say anything about entering the line with such a person.

OP, yes, you all go up to the FP entrance and get a rider switch FP for your husband, who will wait out front with the baby while you go on the ride. And yes, your child can ride again with him (he can bring up to two guest with him). Best part is that he can use the ride switch FP any time for the following 10 days.

You won't need a FP. Husband and older child ride using FP, you get the swap ticket and wait outside the que with the baby. When they are done you use the swap ticket to enter the FP line with your daughter -- so she gets to ride twice! Usually the Rider Swap tickets are good until the end of your trip, so you can go back on a different day and use it.

I did swap last year. It was me, husband and 3 kids 8,10 and 1. We got a fast pass for one adult and one child and then went to the cast member at the ride entrance, showed them the baby and they gave us a paper child swap pass good all day for up to 3 people. So my husband and one child rode first and then me and both older kids rode again with the paper child swap pass. We didn't need a fast pass too.
So in your case only one adult and the one child would need FP to ride first. Show them the baby at the entrance. They will give you a paper child swap. The second adult and the same child can then return through the fast pass line with the paper child swap. You can change the second adult fast pass to something else.

As the poster above explained you will get a rider swap pass when you present a child to small to ride. The pass will allow the waiting parent to ride with 2 additional people once the 1st riding party has waited in line (either regular or fp line). I prefer this method better as my son is 2 and i would rather let him run around while we wait for the others to ride than to have to have him stand in line especially if the line is long. You don't have to book a fp for the one who will be waiting and you can use it for like Barnstormer for you and your little one to catch. You also don't have to ride immediately after your first party has ridden. I can't remember how long it gives you to use the pass but it's not immediate use required.

This will be our 1st trip with a baby in 20 yrs, (1st grandchild) I still don't understand. If we all get a fastpass except my daughter and baby and she gets a swap pass, how would she be able to get in FP line to ride when we are done if she didn't already have a FP? Does this make any sense? That is wonderful about 3 others getting to ride with her! Baby Bonus!

The swap pass allows you entry into the FP line (+ 2 others, I think)

For SDMT, the swap tickets are given outside. Our party goes up, 2yr goes under the measurement. I get a swap ticket. DH takes DS thru and uses FP+. When they are done, I take DS and go thru the FP+ line showing them my swap ticket.

For Thunder and Splash, DH would get a lanyard to take to the ride. When they get to the CM that assigns seats, the lanyard is exchanged for a swap ticket. This makes it more difficult for me since DH has lost a swap ticket before! Yes, between the ride and getting outside, he's lost that little scrap of paper!

This is not always the case. I've gotten rider swap tickets that were good through the end of the day, and others I've gotten were good through the end of the month! It varies.

Think of the rider switch pass as an anytime FP+ for up to 3 people. The first person(s) enter the fp+ line using a fp+ each. The 2nd set (up to 3) uses the rider switch pass as their fp+. This pass is good for at least the entire day, ours was good until the end of the month. It does not have to be used immediately.

I'm not sure about the lanyard thing you're describing. Never seen that. I've always gotten my swap ticket outside the entrance at BTMRR. Not sure on Splash.

I know it is confusing! Just ask the CM standing at the FP gate. We did it a few times, even on no height limit rides when the babies were sleeping. Basically they wrote out a little paper ticket, which I held on to while my inlaws took the older child on the ride. Then when they got off, they took the babies and I brought the older child back on for a second spin. In this case all adults had FP for the ride. I think you are all supposed to, but if one adult doesn't they may let you ride swap anyway at their discretion. If it is a "must-do" I would recommend everyone have a FP just in case. But, this may be a loophole!

Review her post. She said nothing about waiting in line with a baby.

Her post asks if they can all walk in together (this means the line) and then 2 ride while the other 2 wait at the front of the line for the other two to finish and pass the baby off. She was asking how it works. No, it doesn't work that way, the non-rider must wait outside the line. I don't understand where the confusion is.
