Question about August

We have a WDW trip planned for early August with my brother's family. Will be 5 kids ages 9-16 and my brother has two girls who really enjoy Harry Potter. We are looking into visiting Universal but only for a day. My concern is that this will not be enough time to do both Harry Potter Parks. Since we would already be at $150 a ticket we are not interested in purchasing express passes.

My question is is it feasible to do both HP parks in early August? Should we just do one park and then some other attractions in whichever main park we are in? I understand to do everything would be about 3 days but we are looking to max out one day.

If you are only interested in doing both HP areas it is possible.They are like lands at Disneys Magic Kingdom and the 2 headliner attractions ( forbidden Journey and Gringotts) don't take express pass anyway, but do have single riders.Hogwarts express doesn't have express pass either and it REQUIRES a park to park pass to ride it. It WILL BE BUSY and you are likely going to want to be there before opening and ready to go and plan on being there all day till close .

Besides the eating and shopping, there are only 6 attractions between the two lands. I think it's very doable for one day if you plan to get there right at rope drop, and devote the entire time to just HP. You've got Gringott's and the Express to Hogsmeade, Forbidden Journey, Dueling Dragons, Flight of Hippogriff, and the other direction of the Hogwarts Express.

I couldn't choose just one.If forced, I would go with Islands of Adventure and Hogsmeade village and the Hogwarts Castle
