Question About ASMusic Rooms

We will be travelling in September with our one year old daughter, who will be sleeping in a pack-n-play... I've seen picutres of the ASMu rooms with a "curtain" up near the bathroom/"closet" area... and I've seen pictures without the curtain... :confused3 This would be a great place to put DD so that she feels as though she's in her own room (she WILL NOT sleep with DH and I in the room with her now...) Can I request a room with this curtain or am I crazy?:rotfl:

Calypso and Jazz buildings have the curtains. The others don't have them.

Just Calypso is preferred. If you don't want preferred, just request Jazz on your reservation. When you get there, if your request wasn't met, ask again if they can fit you into a room in the one of the Jazz bldgs. Just in case they still don't put you in there, pack a "dollar store" shower curtain and a couple of self-stick hooks or a tension rod in your suitcase and make your own curtain.

Thanks Lisa! Thats what I was thinking of doing anyways, since I'd rather stay away from the preferred buildings by the pool... I'd rather have it semi-quiet for mid-day breaks for my DD! I'm glad someone else thought of the shower curtain... I"m sure when I tell DH he'll think I'm crazy!:rotfl2:

I curious; does anybody know why they didn't put them in all the buildings? Weren't all the buildings remodeled? :confused3 :confused3

I was wondering that too. We were in Broadway last year and I was expecting a curtain. I was disappointed when there was none. And I'm not sure about this, but isn't at least part of the Jazz section preferred now???:confused3

I was wondering that too... I'm seriously thinking about the shower curtain! (BTW I'm originally from WV!!)

Um, even in the preferred rooms (I was in Calypso in April) the curtain only seperates the sink area from the bedroom area. There isn't any room to put a bed or even a cot in between the sink and curtain. Take a look at the room plan you'll see that the clothes "closet" rod hangs in that area too (there is no actual closet just a rod to hang your clothes.

These are pretty small rooms. She will have to sleep in the same area as you and your DH no matter what. I can't even imagine where you would attempt to hang a shower curtain, between the 2 double beds?

Your best bet would be to try and get a family suite, then she could sleep in the living room part in the chair that opens up into a bed and you with DH could have the bedroom with the queen bed.

No way can any person (even a child) can sleep in between the sink and privacy curtain. It is meant for just that-some privacy when you come out of the bathroom. We never even closed it- it would get in our way.

There isn't enough room for a small pack and play? she's only a year old and would be in the pack and play... I was going to hang a curtain where WDW has curtains in some of the room-- for the privacy by the bathroom-- not between beds....

There is enough room to set up a pac-n-play at night or for a nap. I would move it during the day though so you more at the vanity.

Here is a photo of an All Star Music room with the privacy curtain:

Thank you so much!! I've thought about upgrading, but I don't want it to be screaming loud from the pool while DD is napping... If upgrading now is even an option-- I"m going during free dining...

Maybe it's my family, but we really don't bring a lot of stuff that needs to be hung up when we go to WDW. If that is you also, you could just shove the hangers towards the sink end of the curtain rod and stick the pack-n-play under the curtain rod. That way you could leave it up all the time and it wouldn't be in the way.

The only issue might be the iron. I can't recall exactly where that is hung on the wall. I'm sure you'll figure out a spot for it anyway. Have fun!

At first, I thought you were making fun of me about hanging up a curtain! Now, I get it... :rotfl: We don't really hang too many clohtes either... maybe DH's button-up shirts, but that would be it... thanks for the suggestions!

DH & I were in a standard room, ground floor in the Jazz building last January. It was great. We were near some of the family suites in an area close to the parking lot. We had the privacy curtain in our room & it was great. :cutie:

Realize you may be restricting access to the bathroom during the night, or risking the middle-of-the-night wakeup (which can be awful with some kids).
