Question about AP's, DDP

Here's our scenario. We had booked a Villa at WL for Dec through AAA in January, got the Magic Your Way with Park Hopper passes and the DDP. Last week we bought into DVC. We want to cancel everything except for the lodging through AAA , buy annual passes and get the DDP as DVC members. Can we do this even though we are not staying on points?

Congrats on your purchase. Yes, you can get AP's and DDP as members:

1. You can get your AP's discounted through the DVC member website.
2. DDP will go through (407) WDW-DINE as you are booked on cash at the WL.

If you were booked on points, you'd be calling MS for your DDP. Either way, the cutoff is no less than 48 hours in advance of check-in.

If you booked your reservation through AAA, you will need to call them to make changes. I'm not sure that they will have the DDP without MYW passes. Since you booked with AAA, it is considered a non-member reservation.

The other consideration is that AAA often charges a cancellation fee.

And then there is the issue that your avg AAA agent is not going to realize that you CAN get DDP if you have an AP even if it's not a package and Disney won't deal with you since you have the AAA TA involved. (You can get DDP with an AP now)

Since the DDP is the same price basically either way I am not sure I see the advantage to doing this unless you could get an AP rate on the room.

YOu can just upgrade you ticket to a DVC discounted AP once you get to Disney.
