Question about AP voucher exchange.

I just read something on another site that got me worried. Please ease my concerns by giving me the answer I'm looking for. I bought two :scared: AP vouchers online last Sept. for my DBF and I. We are going next month and will be exchanging them there. Someone on another site said that the only person who can exchange them is the person whose name it was in. But when I ordered them, they didn't ask for the names of each person, I just used my credit card and paid. SO....the answer that I'm looking for is that the AP gets an identity after it is exchanged. Is that right? Otherwise, am I screwed? Will my DBF not be able to exchange the voucher? I'm so confused and starting to freak out! HELP! :scared:
 
They don't know what they are talking about.

You take a voucher to guest services and they give you an annual pass... at that point it is not transferable. Vouchers do NOT have a name associated with them.

Make sure you take ID with you when you go to have them activated.

Marlynnp is exactly right - you will have NO problems exchanging your vouchers for APs. We did this just last month and there was NO name on our vouchers at all! Good luck & have fun!
 
Thank you both for easing my mind. :wave2: I started for freak out for a second!! It's starting to get close enough to my trip that I'm imagining every little thing going wrong!
 

In fact, if you lose your vouchers, it is possible for someone else to get an AP with them.

So guard those vouchers like cash. If you write down the number on the back, and they disappear, if you call Guest Services immediately (before someone turns them into an AP) they can probably issue you a new voucher.

That's an excellent tip! As soon as I read this I copied down the numbers and put them in the purse I'm planning on bringing so I don't forget!
 
can you tell me how ap works please?
I am going in may and i am thinking of ap to get hotel discounts.
Do i have to wait until just before my trip to buy ap or can i pay for it now and then activate it when i get there? I don't want to buy it now and then waste 10 months when i can't get to Florida.Help please!!!

You can buy now and activate whenever you like! We are from the UK too, and bought ours in October. The vouchers arrived in 3 days! We are exchanging them when we visit in August. By buying in October we saved money as they rose in price in January. Buy as soon as you like. Hope this helps you Brer Rabbit! :)
 
I have another question for you voucher/AP experts. I want to upgrade a MYW ticket to an AP but want to hang on to it and NOT have it activated yet. Does that mean they will give me a voucher when upgrade? I like the way the MYW ticket has our names on them and was hoping an unactivated AP would work the same way. It almost seems like they wouldn't want to issue a voucher anyway since the MYW ticket is nontransferable. (My previous experience has been with nameless pre-MYW ticket that was upgraded to a voucher for future use.)
