question about AP and FP+

We have a 10 day park hopper ticket with the SPD promo. We want to upgrade to an AP since we are there 15 days and we'll be going on a Disney cruise next January (11 months from our vacation). How does it work as far as FP+? Will I lose all my times once I upgrade? can I only upgrade once we're at the parks or can I upgrade over the phone at any time? and how does FP+ work with APs? we are staying on site so can we still book at the 60 day mark?

3. You can call and try.
4. With a WDW resort stay, you can book FP+ for as many days as you have booked at the WDW resort.

4. Up to the number of days you have on your ticket. If you have a 10 day and will be there for 15 days, you'll only be able to book FP+ for 10 days unless you are able to upgrade to the AP in advance. Once you have the AP, you can get the rest (assuming you will be at the parks each day).
