Question about Annual pass

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, if I'm wrong I apologize.

I'm planning on buying an annual pass for me and for my boyfriend for his birthday. His birthday is in February and we aren't planning on going to the parks until May for my birthday. If I buy the passes in February will they be activated right away so the year long pass will be good from Feb 17 - Feb 18? Or will they be activated the first time we use them in May so it'll be good for May 17 - May 18? Does reserving fast passes effect this at all? I don't want to lose out on months we aren't going to be using it.

Also, when I buy his pass, on his account he has his nickname listed instead of his full birth name. Will this mess up purchasing the annual pass? Will he need to change his name back to his real name?

I read through all of the FAQ on the Disney site about the AP, but they didn't have much information on the matter.

Thank you!

Moving this to the Theme Parks board. You'll find lots of information on park tickets there. :)

When you buy an AP online you receive a voucher/confrimation which you will redeem at any Guest relations at any park or Disney Springs. It will be active from that day on. As far as the name thing goes. No clue Sorry.

I would use his real name because they ask for ID when they give you your AP.

Thanks! Just so I'm understanding you correctly, when we redeem the confirmation at the park is when it becomes active?

Yes. The day you actually go to Guest Relations is when it is active. We do this every time we get new AP's. Make sure you are both there and have ID's.

Awesome thank you! That'll work out great so we can actually get some decent fastpasses. Was thinking I'd have to wait right before our trip.

One more question. If I purchase the annual pass online will it show up in my Disney App? I'm staying on property so if I could link it up then I'll be able to get fastpasses 60 days out. Is this possible?

They gave us a confirmation number that we linked to My Disney Experience and were able to make FP ressies before our trip. Ours was only 30 days out because we weren't staying onsite but yours should be 60.

and guessing by your user name you are a FL resident if so make sure you get the discount on your AP

One more tip. Purchase them before January 3rd and you will receive 13 months instead of 12. There is talk that this might get extended, but since you are planning to purchase I would do it before Jan 3 to be sure of getting the 13 month deal!

If I purchase them that far ahead of time will it still be good? I'm not planning on going to the park until the end of May
