I haven't been able to find this information on Amtrak's site so am trying to see if anyone who has used Amtrak can help me. Do they have parking at the stations? Is there a cost for this? Is it a secured lot? TIA! I am trying to make sure that I budget for all of our expenses.

At 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, the rates can be from $20-$35 per each 24-hour period.....I am somewhat doubtful about security there.....the underground lot is dark and not a safe place, IMHO. I would Google your city and station to see if you can obtain more specific information. I am sure some stations are quite reasonable; 30th Street is in the city and parking is at a premium, thus expensive.

It depends on the station and location. Some offer free short or long-term parking, some charge for long-term only, while others (usually stations in larger cities, such as Philadelphia) charge for both. This information is found in the front pages of the Amtrak National Train Timetable. Reservation agents at Amtrak's toll-free number should also have access to this information.

It depends on the particular station. Some stations have their own lot and some don't. Also (mostly in larger cities), they may charge for parking. The only concern I have is that some stations are located in rough neighborhoods and may not have a safe place to leave your car. If it's feasible, I would visit the station before your trip and see what kind of parking that they have.

I know Washington DC's Union Station has a large parking garage. We used it a couple of years ago to go to NY and it was fine. We're using it in a couple of weeks to go to RI. It's pretty secure and I can't remember what they charge.

I called the number & they told me that there was free parking behind the YMCA. ???? We happened to go to VA a couple weeks ago & stopped at the station. There is parking there right across the street in a secured lot. :) That makes it easier for me. :)
