Question about AKL

This is our first year renting points, and I'm not sure what the difference is between a value 2 bdr and the other 2 bdrs at Animal Kingdom. Can someone please explain? Thanks

The value 2 bedroom will sleep 8, but they will definitly be cramped, since the value units are a LOT smaller. There will also only be 2 bathrooms. The master with a Jacuzzi/shower combo and two sinks and a seperate toilet room, plus a second bath with tub/shower and toilet in one room of the bathroom, and the sink and vanity in an open area of the bathroom.

There will be a pull out full sized sleep sofa in the second bedroom along with a queen bed, and a pull out queen sleep sofa in the living room. The master will have the usual King bed (I think). There will also be a very tiny inefficient galley style kitchen with a small island.

Since the DVC rooms at Jambo were built from existing AKL space, there was smaller left over space. These were assigned the value category.

Thanks for the info. We are a party of 5, 2 adults and 3 children(14,8,6) Are we allowed in a one bedroom, or do we have to rent a two?? Thanks again.

You can not do a value 1BR, however you can book a standard, savanna or (good luck) concierge 1BR since they all sleep 5. If you book a standard 1BR in Kidani Village, you will have 2 full bathrooms in your 1BR. You would have 3 full bathrooms in a 2BR in Kidani Village. Overall, the Kidani Village 1BR and 2BR will be larger than the Jambo house versions and they will have the extra bathroom. The value and concierge categories are only available at Jambo. If you decide you want the value category, you will need to book a 2BR.

When you make the reservation, you get a reservation at a specific building, either Jambo or Kidani. There is no difference in point requirement between the two.
