Iam curious about ADR's. If I had an ADR for say...chef Mickeys at 5.10pm and another party the same size as mine had an ADR for 5.pm . If I checked in at 4.50pm and they checked in a few minutes later...Who would be given the "next available table"??
is it first come first served/ or is it based upon adr time only?

You should get the table because you checked in first.

I have noticed that some restaurants do not allow you to check in early. It could have just been a one time only thing, but when I checked in early (maybe 15 min, I can't remember anymore) at 50s Primetime they told me to come back at exactly the time of the reservation. We then waited about 40 min. to be seated after we finally were allowed to check in. I think this may have just been a very busy night. At Boma last week we had an ADR for 5:00. I tried to check in about 15 minutes early and was told to come back at 5:05 to check in. By 5:05 the line was quite long for check-in, but moved very quickly. I think maybe the first seating was not a good idea.

But i thought we are supposed to always check in 15mins before the adr time?
This is what Iam always told by the cM when I make an ADr.:confused3

We had a 6:40 ADR for Chef MIckey. We wentt around 5:20 to see if we could get in earlier. I didn't even ask . I just gave my name when we checked in and we were given a pager which went off one minute after i gave my name.
