I'm the official planner for our group (9 adults, 3 kids) and we currently have a dinner planned at Rose & Crown. After reading some reviews I'm a little leery (and I'm wondering how the kids menu will be received by the kiddos). So I've been calling about switching to Kona Cafe. Currently the only adr is awfully late.

Has anyone had success calling back (and back.... and back...) and getting a group this size?

How often does everyone call - several times a day or ????

Another thought I had was just checking for tables of 4 and trying to get 3 separate tables close to the same time. The problem with that would be I would have to cancel the RnC adr and cross my fingers we would be able to get in.

My kids (5 and 7) hated the rose and crown. Kids menu didn't suit them. Sausage and mashed potatoes? Not my kids thing.

Kona cafe, WAY WAY better for the kids.

They should be able to accomodate your group size. I'd call again after the same day, then I would call back before your trip and confirm the reservation.

Thanks for the backup - that's what I was thinking.

Well I've got alarms set to remind me to call three times a day now. Hopefully a decent time will open up for us...

I would keep trying and continue to try even while I was there at guest services of any resort. If you cannot get a table together, I would split the group, and probably when checking into the podium if you say something like we had to split our group to come to this restaurant, is it possible to sit us near each other... please.

It could happen....good luck on getting that adr.

The first thing I always tell them is its fine to split us up - everyone will be there a week so we don't have to sit by everyone every time - I've even had them check on 3 tables with close staggered seating times. One slightly earlier opened up at Kona, but still not there.

I did snag one at Spoodles at a good time and cancelled the Rose and Crown - I think that might fit the group a little better if we can't switch over.

Thanks everybody!
