Question about adding the DDP after the 45 day mark

Im not 100% sure weither or not DH and I should do the DDP and probably wont make up my mind till the last minute. I know you can add it up to a week prior to your arrival date. We booked through AAA. I know that if theres any changes or cancellations to your reservation they tack on a $50 price, but what changes to your package more specifically adding the DDP. If we were to add it pass the 45 day mark, would we get charged that $50?

nope, i added my dining package not too long before my vacation started, and i didn't have to pay any extra fees. just had to pay in full at that time.

so have fun, and enjoy all that food!
