Question about adding on points

Our home resort is BWV with an October use year. We are interested in adding on points. Because DVC is not licensed to sell in Washington State, where we live, we have verified with our Guide that we can only purchase points when we are in Orlando. We aren't scheduled to go until December. We've read the guidebook but still have questions about adding on. I imagine by December they will no longer be selling BWV points. Can you purchase the minimum add on at another resort or can it only be with your home resort? At another resort, will there be the additional costs added on, is this a new contract? I understand the window issue and wonder if it is worth it to add on minimal points at another resort. Resale points are more than we are interested in.Thanks for your help, we are still DVC challenged and just checking out our options!

Can you purchase the minimum add on at another resort or can it only be with your home resort?

Yes you can purchase the minimum at any resort. It would be considered and add-on and there would be no additional costs involved.

Is it worth it? You can only answer that. If you book at 11 months it's probably not worth it because a small number of points will not allow you to do anything. If you are flexible and book within the 7 month window, it probably wouldn't effect you and would be worth doing.

It's too bad you can't get there before December to take advantage of the points that are now for sale at the BWV.
