Question about adding meal plan..

When booking comes available in June for my May 2015 trip, I would assume that the 2015 dining pricing will not be out yet.

Would I be able to add on the meal plan at that time and then when the new pricing comes out Disney will charge the difference on my card? Or will I have to wait until the new pricing comes out? Or should I just wait until a week or so before my ADR time open up and add it then?

My wife asked me about this tonight about booking and I honestly do not know. The only thing I do know is that DVC members do not get charged the peak rates, only regular rates year round (right?).

You will have to wait until 2015 pricing is available before you can add a dining plan to a reservation with a 2015 check-in date. Once pricing is available, you can add a dining plan at anytime up to 2 days prior to your check-in date.

I suggest running the numbers. I personally do not find great value with the meal plans.

while they do not always save money, the big benefit is my wife on a dining plan will order what she wants. My wife not on a dining plan will look for the cheapest thing she will eat. Also when grandpa pays for three families to go over three rooms, he can prepay one room at a time over several months VS paying it all at once.

I don't think it's a good value but I just love knowing our food is completely paid for. I usually bring Tupperware and tinfoil and take a lot of leftovers home. We drive so its not hard.
