question about adding dining plan

So I'm hoping for free dining but if not I plan on paying out of pocket for my dining. Today I'm 180 days out so I booked all my table restaurants today

I have a question if I do get free dining do I have to cancel my reservation and book again for free dining?

I had to pay for two right now. Cinderella royal table and Hoop Dee Do Revue.

Really worried I will have to cancel reservations and re book because I don't know if I will get what I want

Is it better to add the dining plan now and hope for free dining or just wait?

Not sure how it works with the ones you prepaid for but for sure the others you won't have to rebook if you add the dining plan. Someone else I am sure can chime in aboutthe ones you prepaid for.

No you will not have to change your reservations. You will have to call and fix any pre-paid meals to the dining plan once and if you add it.

Some of the meals are just a hold with the credit card so when you actually eat there they just go with what you have - OOP or dining plan.

We didn't have the dining plan when we made our reservations. You won't have to cancel your current reservations if you add the DDP. You just have to tell them at the restaurants when it is time to pay that you have the dining plan.

I'm not sure how it works with the prepaid ones, though.

You can always just wait and at the restaurant they will credit your credit card.

I'm not too worried about the ones I didn't have to pre pay for its just the 2 that I did. Which of course are the most expensive!

I'll just wait until the day comes and get a credit on my card.

You can have the prepaid ones switched over to the DP. My experience has been that you will need to get a supervisor to do it. Otherwise the regular phone CMs will try to get you to cancel and rebook. If that happens, you could lose your reservation. You can also wait until you are at your reservation.

You might also want to consider paying out of pocket for those any way. Since most of the really expensive, signature places take 2 of your dining credits, that is two nights worth of meals at other places. They usually aren't the price of two sit-down meals at another Disney restaurant.

When we go, we have a meal planned for LeCellier. And we're on the dining plan. I am seriously thinking we'll just pay out of pocket for that and eat at a couple of other restaurants another time.
