Question about add-ons & booking

I'm sure this has probably been asked & answered a million times, but I'm not finding it.

I current have 200 WL points with an August use year. Say I want to add on an AKL 100 points with a June use year.

My question is if I want to use all 300 points at AKL, say for a Feb trip the following year, can I get the 11 mo booking window, or do I have to wait for my WL points and book within the 7 mo. window?

We really want to add on points, but I'm not sure about this darn booking window and how it will affect me.

ANY and ALL help would be much appreciated!!!!

you can only book at 11 months with points that belong to the specific resort.

In your case, if you were to add on 100 AKV points: You could use 200 points at 11 months at VWL. You could use 100 points at 11 months at AKV. You could use 300 points at 7 months at any resort.

I would think twice before buying multiple UYs which will be two separate master contracts. Multiple UYs are harder for you and MS to manage.

Different UY are treated as separate contracts so you could not use the points together without transferring. I would not do separate UY in this situation unless it were a heck of a good deal you couldn't get otherwise OR unless you were downsizing and planned to sell the 200 pt contract. IF you had this situation you'd either need to transfer points OR make separate reservations and link them. Not that big a deal except you couldn't use the points together to make a single 7 day reservation without transferring. IF you had this situation and the same UY, you'd just transfer the 100 ps to the August UY and then you could make reservations. Even then you might have some issues because they usually have to make reservations with transferred points manually which can take a couple of days unless their recent computer upgrade changed this.
