Question about ad-ons

Hi there,
I recently purchased 100 points through resale at BCV. After thinking about it a lot, I am beginning to think that I may not be able to afford to keep this. I think I may be better off with 25 or 50 points. So here is my question:
Now that I am "in" can I purchase 25 or 50 points at another resort directly through DVC and then once I own it, sell my 100 point property? Would I be able to get Disney financing for such a small add-on?
If this is possible, it would seem that I could be left with a small 25 or 50 point ownership that I purchased directly through Disney with Disney financing.
Also, does anyone have a sense of whether 25 or 50 points would be available at either VWL, AKL, or VB? Any idea of what Disney would charge?
Many thanks,
Ken

Yes, you could buy a 25 or 50 point contract as long as you still have your initial 100 pt contract. Sell after you buy the smaller contract.
I understand DVC has dropped their financing minimum requirement to 50 pts.
It depends on your UY as to whether there is availability. You just need to ask your guide. I would wager to bet that VB wouldn't be a problem. I have bought 4 VWL add ons and have never had to wait. My UY is December.

Good Luck.

yes.

as stated, yes for 50 or more pts and no for fewer than 50.

probably depends on the use year you have.

here's a thread that might help.

Any idea of what Disney would charge?

a pretty good idea, yes.

(no closing costs for direct add-ons, either.)

Could you rent some of your extra points to cover some costs on your 100 point contract? By the time you pay financing charges for a new 50 point contract and pay brokers fees to sell your 100 point contract, would you really come out that much ahead?
