question about 3D shows

You can always hold your 4 yo on your lap if the effects scare him. He won't feel them unless he is seated in his own seat. My 2 yo loved them all!

If your son gets scared, like people mentioned put him on your lap or take the glasses off to show him it's not real.

Fine plans for all EXCEPT "Its Tough to Be a Bug"

because there's no escaping (by sitting on a lap or removing glasses):
the GIANT in-theater animatronic Hopper (Villain)
the heavy quick BLASTS of compressed air
the theater completely FILLING (instantly) with the "bug killer" FOG
the HUGE menacing "Black Widow SPIDERS" that drop down RIGHT overhead
(all accompanied by SHREKS from the audience with every "surprise effect")

Nope, I do LOVE this show (as an adult) but for kids (even some pre-TEENS) the "up-close and personal" effects can be overwhelming.

Best advice: send an adult to see it first, then decide.

Robo has it exactly right. DD4 can't see 3D effects and was still scared by this show. Very, very loud also.

Mickey's Philharmagic is great for the younger ones, because it has all the characters from the movies (Donald ends up meeting Ariel, flying on Aladdin's carpet, etc.) and there isn't so much scary stuff coming at them. If you see it, don't forget to look at the back of the theatre at the end.

We still Love Muppet Vision despite multiple viewings. The humor is timeless, especially the Pre-Show. PhilarMagic is also "Classic Disney."

My favorite, was Mickey's Phillarmagic, at MK, which is just about Donald losing Mickey's sorcerer's hat, and going through scenes and songs from Disney movies to find it. My second favorite, is Honey I Shrunk the Audience, at Epcot, the mice and snake can be scary. The other two, Muppets 4-D, at MGM, and It's Tough to Be A Bug, are also good, but I like the other two better. They're all definatly worth seeing though.
