Last time I went to Disney i was 16, no kids. Now I have a daughter that age, and my ds 11. We are going in March, and staying offsite as I got a good deal on a hotel there (44.99 a night!) HOWEVER...

When I checked my email today I got a code for 20% off the mod resorts, and was thinking about it.We are getting there the day before Easter and leaving the friday after. I am considering staying at my original hotel cause the rates are great until Wednesday, and then checking into POFQ from wed-fri so the kids can have that experience also.

HELP!! Im so looking for suggestions, and any tips you have on Disney, Epcot, and MGM, as those are what we are hitting and I havent been in YEARS!!!

Sorry, I can't answer your questions about codes, but I just wanted to suggest posting your question on the Codes and Rates board. You'll probably get more responses there. Here's the link:

If have any specific questions about WDW or if you just want to check out other people's tips, check out the Theme Park Attractions and Strategies board or the Disney Tips board. You'll find a lot of great info! :thumbsup2

Moved your post here,I think the experts here can help you.:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes Danny

Stay on site for sure if you can-it honestly makes a HUGE difference. We love the moderates hotels and POR is of our favorites even after staying in deluxes many times. CBR pool is under construction I wouldnt stay there and CSR was nice also. The transportation is a huge advantage if you stay on site its much easier for us at least to use disney transportation and probably you as well since your going around easter. We've never had a problem there. You can also use ME if you stay onsite. Plus you get to use EE hours and get into the parks early or late on certain days- and during busy times its great! We stayed off site once and will never do it again!! Hope you have a great trip!:goodvibes

If you look the 20% off isn't good during Easter.
Available for stays most nights 1/6-2/2/08, 2/24-3/1/08, 3/30-4/12/08, 8/10-9/27/08, 10/19-11/1/08, 11/9-11/15/08 and 12/7-12/13/08.

At the top it says for the mods but you will be paying rack rate.

I agree...onsite is an experience in itself. The kids can find hidden Mickeys on resort property, the theming is beautiful, transportation included...we stay at The Beach Club and walk over to Epcot almost every night. It hurts to leave there...so much to do !

Any more ideas are helpful, and as far as dates we may switch them if the deal is right :)

If it were me, I'd switch, just to stay on the property! Like the above posters have indicated, it's so much of the experience!

Staying on site is nice, it just depends on if that 20% off is enough to move your dates. Pick another time and just get a quote with the 20% off and see. It just isn't enough off to move our plans but it might be for you.

There is something wonderfully magical about staying on site. It's like once you cross under that Welcome To Disney World...the outside world disappears. I have had family and friends try to tell me that saying off site is just as good. And while I will agree its not super troublesome it's just not the same. I say if you can swing it stay on site! The Value resorts are great especially for kids. Don't let the word "Value" worry you. It's just simply a catagory that indicates the amenities the resorts have.

If you do decided to do a split say between off site and on site I would do the 2nd half of the trip on site. Remember to figure in the time loss moving from off site to on site and the cost of a cab if you will not have a car with you.

I would also call and see if that code is good for a Value resort too. I have seen emails offering discounts (general public and AP) that will state one resort category but end up being good for each category.

Good luck in what ever you decided to do.
