Question about 2 Memberships

We have two contacts each with different Use Years which means two membership IDs.

I'm pretty sure this isn't possible, but I'm coming to the experts here to confirm because my hubby questions me lol

We have a booking under one contract/membership and he would like to move that booking to the other contract/membership so that we are using those banked points instead.

My understanding is that we cannot do that. I surely can't do it myself via the web...but can Member Services do it if I called? I'm thinking no, but that's why I'm here asking you all

They can reallocate points used for a reservation within the same membership but they cannot transfer a reservation from one membership to another and use the 2nd memberships points. The best they can do is cancel your reservation and hope to rebook it using the second membership.

You can stalk the website and waitlist a few nights at the beginning and end of your trip on the membership with banked points and then adjust the current one you have,

I did that with a friend who ended up adding on direct. I have a November trip booked for her so we have been trying it. So far, we picked up first and last night of the 5. We have a month to go to try and get more of the nights so she can use her on points vs renting from me.

If we don’t get them, we will have MS link all of them so they dont have to change rooms!

Subject to one exception: (a) points in one use year cannot be combined with those in another use year to make a single reservation, and (b) a reservation made with one use year's points cannot be modified in any way by using points from another use year.

The only exception is to transfer points from one use year to the other, which, if done, allows the points from both use years to be used to make or modify a single reservation. Nevertheless, only current use year points can be transferred, not banked or borrowed points.

Thus, since you want to use banked points in the second use year, the only things you can do are: (a) make a new reservation with the second use year points for the same resort, room category, and dates as you already have under the first use year, and cancel the reservation you have under the first use year, or (b) make a new reservation for the beginning or ending portion of the first reservation using the points in the second use year if the dates are separately available, and then modify the first reservation by dropping those dates, thus giving you two successive reservations that cover the same time period, and then call MS and have it link the two reservations so you will not have to change rooms.

That's what we are going to try to do instead of attempting to cancel it now and risk not getting the dates we already have.
