Quest for the West

Some of you may remember that last summer my parents took my two oldest to Ecuador/Galapagos using ABD. They all absolutely loved it and were already talking about which trip, or the same, they would take in 2 or 3 years with my youngest and a nephew of the same age.

Well, last week we got a surprise when my dad called and said he wanted to take everyone on the Quest for the West to celebrate their 45 wedding anniversary!

I think the boys will all love it - Four of them are between 6 and 8. My daughter is hoping for girls on the trip, but she is so excited to go on another ABD trip!

So, for anyone who has done this trip, my only research is flights and what to do in Jackson. Should we fly in a day early? Is there enough to do in Jackson considering ABD gives you a half day to explore?

Thanks! Any tips would be great. There is a great trip report in the sticky section, but it is from 2009. Any more recent?

Congrats!! What a great surprise! Quest for the West is one of ABD's most popular itineraries (and I think it may be their most popular domestic trip). There are several people on this board who have taken this trip, so I'm hopeful you'll get all the answers you need.

Scott Smith, who was a member of the Podcast for a little while did a trip report this last summer for Quest for the West. He posted his report on the blog, not here (hmmmm... I'm thinking I should post links to it in the Sticky. Thanks for the idea! )

We went in 2009 (perhaps you read my TR?) and our boys loved it. Of course they were older but all the younger boys in our group seemed to be having a blast! Lots to do, pretty active all day.

You are most welcome. The ABD boards are not as active as some and I remember enjoying TRs as we were trying to decide which ABD was for us. Pay it forward
