QueenDoOver's Completed (REALLY!) TR for Jack and Nathan's Surprise Bday Trip

I'm loving your report and the pictures!

How scary you got onto the wrong plane! How did that happen? :scared1:

The boys are so cute as Peter and Capt. Hook.

I love the colors in the Monsters, Inc. pictures. :thumbsup2

Having had a very late night and having retired with very tired legs, we all slept like rocks and stayed in bed clear until...7:30. Yep, you heard that right. I take full blame, because Nathan and I are not very good sleeper inners.
So we woke up and showered and dressed and by then we had the Hogan's stirring. Carrie got ready and then we took the boys downstairs so Scott could have some privacy. The little cartoon room at the PPH came in great for getting Jack's blood sugar checked and his insulin injected. Then we were off to have breakfast with Lilo and Stitch.

I think this is a great value, if you are a big breakfast eater. With the AP discount it is about $19 for adults and $11 or so for kids, as I recall. I love the salmon and rice that they serve. Nathan ate basically nothing, maybe a few bites of cereal, and a pancake or something but he did drink his hot chocolate, which is included and if I bought that seperate it would have been $3.75. And let's face it, I would have had to order him something that he also would not have eaten, so I figure I came out okay. I could have shared something with him, but then I would have been compromising on what I needed for breakfast. All around better as two buffets, for us, that is. Carrie ordered off the menu and then ordered coffee and it was the same price as the buffet:)

Anyhow, I quite stuffed myself and then was not in need of food again for some time.

The kids were sort of so-so about characters, but out of all of them, seemed to enjoy the ones here the most. Lilo and Stitch were a hoot, and Pluto is always a favorite.

They gave the boys each a birthday card for the characters to sign. They liked that part.

The Birthday Treats: Of course everyone was so stuffed by then that nobody ate them.
For any of you that might be planning for a gluten free and/or diabetic experience at disney, I just have to say it is not that easy. They try, but don't really get it, ya know?? If they can't provide carbs, they should provide serving size information in addition to the packaging, or something. That being said, both Carrie and Jack had gluten free pancakes for breakfast and they were really great tasting. The only problem was no ability to know the carbs, so difficult to dose the insulin. A good guess was made, but as we found out later, they probably were much higher in carbs than what they had guessed.
So, with breakfast under our belts, we were off to Disneyland for The Hogan Family's first time ever in Disneyland. We ended up walking the same route through The Grand and Downtown Disney, through the bag check line and into the front gates of Disneyland.
frontofftodL.jpg

backofftodisneyland.jpg

We had a tour scheduled for 10:00 and it was about 9 or so, and I knew that we were going to have to get strollers to get through the day. So I sort of left the Hogans to absorb the Mickey Head Floral, get a picture taken, etc. while I got strollers.

After we got the kids loaded into the stroller, we went through the tunnel and around the corner and got the kids out of the stroller to go up onto the Main Street train platform. We had about 40 minutes until our Welcome to Disneyland Tour, and I thought it would be nice to do the full circuit around the park. After we got our strollers parked we got in line for the train and were all aboard in no time at all.

Notice how blinged up I have gotten Scott, the mechanical engineer:

After sitting down on the train, I decided that it was probably smart to get Scott trained at fast pass. So I quickly gathered up all the tickets and Scott and when we reached New Orleans Square, we jumped off the train and instructed Carrie to stay on the train until she was back at main street. Scott and I then went to Haunted Mansion fast pass distribution center and got fastpasses for all of us to get to experience the Holiday Haunted Mansion. Fast passes in hand, we headed over the bridge and past Tarzan's treehouse, through adventure land, past the Tiki House, past the partners and down mainstreet back to the train station, and we still had to wait for Carrie and the boys to arrive. While we waited I ran into City Hall and picked up the list of Gluten Free options. It is great that they have that available, but we found that some of the restaurants and counter service places didn't even know that they had those options. I also got first visit buttons for all the Hogans and Honorary Citizen buttons for the boys. Since they had gotten their bday buttons as well their celebrate buttons, they had decided to collect buttons, and had gotten Lilo and Stitch that morning as well. You will see in the pictures that they were all worn at the same time.
Carry and the kids finally arrived and we checked in for the tour and had a potty break and got all ready. I had researched the Welcome Tour and everyone had such great reports, and I thought the introduction would be great for first timers, and then the extra fast passes and the VIP seating reservation all sounded great. Our tour guide was Diane, and she was a lovely lady. We ended up with a group of about 6 annual pass holders, another family of 3, there for the first time, and then our group of 5. I was concerned about the pace, but Diane really gaged everyone and kept things moving along fairly well. (I did sneak her aside and explain that one of our kids was diabetic and we were utilizing our strollers to manage the energy level, as well as the blood sugar). That being said, in spite of how wonderful our guide was and the other guests too, our two boys were totally board out of their minds and I would never suggest kids on this tour. Basically, we headed to DCA, went to the backlot, learned some interesting things, walked out to the Wharf and learned about the bakery and the tortilla factory and had a sample. The boys each got a bag of corn tortillas, which were not that great, in honor of their birthdays.
Our Tour:

DSC_0047.jpg

We kept running into these shows and Diane would give us a little tidbit of info and we would pause and watch. It was really cool:
DSC_0050.jpg

These guys sing so well.

Grammy winning group of women mariachi players.
After that we went through the "Tough to Be a Bug" show. It was fabulous and was on my "to do" list. The kids were sort of freaked out for sure! If you have not seen it, I do recommend it as the effects are quite amazing.
We then headed back to DL and toured a bit and got more interesting information on our way over to Pirates of the Carribean, which we were allowed to enter through the exit and ride as a group. It was fun and Diane challenged us to figure out the storyline as we went through, starting with the old guy sleeping on the porch by the Blue Bayou. I won't tell you the answer though!
DSC_0057.jpg

After we got headed into the attraction, we decided to check Jack's bloodsugar. Something about how he was looking and the fact that he had spent the last 30 minutes curled up in a ball in his stroller.
DSC_0055.jpg

Sure enough, he was way high! We made it through the ride and got him a correcting dose of insulin as soon as we landed. We then headed around the corner to get on the train for the last segment of the tour.
I have to say, Nathan at this point was way done, and as soon as we got on the train, he said he had to go to the bathroom and could not wait. The tour was headed to Tomorrowland but I grabbed Nathan and his stroller and jumped off the train at Toontown, so I could get him to the bathroom.
I don't know what all they did on the tour, but Nathan and I hit the Princess Fair restroom and then headed through Fantasyland, and were able to catch one of the mainstreet vehicles back down to Mainstreet. It was the first time Nathan and I had taken time for this, and it was really fun. The driver was super nice and let Nathan sit in the seat and honk the horn after we arrived.
DSC_0063.jpg

We grabbed a churro, which I wanted Nathan to eat before Jack arrived because with the gluten, Jack could not have a churro. We had a nice CM take our picture both with Photo pass and also with my camera. I then realized that I could not get my camera to focus and he took a look and showed me that the focus button had been moved from auto to manual (funny little 6 year old fingers!). Thank you Mr. Photopass man! He took this picture for us with my camera:
DSC_0066.jpg

And here is the photopass picture:
Image0041.jpg

And then I looked over and I saw the tour arriving back at the tour garden, so I quickly gathered Nathan up, told him to finish up that churro and ran over to meet up with the group again. Diane had already said good bye and given our "envelope" with passes in it and our priority seating for Aladdin that we had requested for the next day. I wanted to say thank you to Diane and give her a little tip because she was so sweet and truly shared her love of the parks with us. When I opened my wallet and asked if I could please give her a bit of gratuity because she had done such a great job, she backed up, blew us a kiss (yes really!) and said you all have been such a great group and that is all the thanks I need. Have a great day! ...and off she went. Well, I tell you, she totally made the tour what it was and I was glad that we went. I do have to say one of the reasons we signed up was because we had heard that you got two fast passes for each person that were good for up to 6 people each one on the fast pass ride of your choice. Well, if you are a ride junky like me, and know how miserable the park is on busy days when they actually stop letting people in, then you will understand how dissapointed I was to see that our fast passes were for Buzz Lightyear, not good until 6:30PM and then for Soarin' Over California, not good until 5 or so either (on a night they closed at 7 for the TOT party). I was pretty darn ticked to tell you the truth. I just don't understand why Disney can't "McDonaldize" their systems a bit. It is so dissapointing when you hear that it is one way and then you experience it in a "downgraded" level. Just unacceptable! But, as I said, our tour guide created a good experience and it was only 2.5 hours of our life, so we decided to just move on. I will say, I actually knew most of what Diane had to tell us, and actually more about the actual functioning in the park as a visitor. For example, when our tour got over at 12:30, she suggested we head over to the Golden Nugget to watch Billy Hill. Well, too bad every table was already taken, right? Big surprise there. I had actually planned on waiting a bit for a later lunch, but that was not possible at this point. The Hogans needed their meal, and it was hot and everyone needed a break. So we fought the crowds at Rancho Zocalo (however you spell that) and found a table in the shade. Carrie went in the line and bought as much food as she could carry. Nathan wanted a plain been buritto, but it had cheese in it, so he would not eat, but I had protein bar or something, so he made do with that and I ate his kids meal. Good thing I was smart enough not to order anything, as usual. I know I snuck over and got fast passes to Big Thunder during this lunch.
When we got done, we decided that it was time to hit Jedi Training which was on Jacks must do list. The timing was perfect and both boys were in sync with that decision.
Continued on next post as it is very picture heavy.

Hi Wendy! Hi Sarah!
I'm tryin, and having fun doing so, but it takes awhile, ya know. And Nathan is home with the flu, so distracting me a bit, and then there is that work thing...

We LOVE Lilo and Stitch's!!! And I agree with you Tracey, the salmon and the rice is the best!!!

I love the boys shirts! Are those from Up?

They are! Russell, I love that kid.

I'm still reading, Tracey!

You're the best:thumbsup2

I love the Lilo and Stitch breakfast too. Good choice! :thumbsup2

I wish I was there right now, as it is time for breakfast and I am lazy:lmao:

OKAY Gals! I am finally recovered from my flu and sinus issues. I am going away this weekend to scrapbook, so plan on finishing my entire trip report. I think I will import most of my trip Report into a Creative Memories Story Book and have that for my photo album.

Oooh, you do CM?

Well...I hate to claim to do CM. The real truth is that I started scrapbooking 13 years ago. I have finished one album. I have 4 others in progress and none of them are current. Well, actually my Xmas album is current. So, I am not much of a scrap booker, am I? But, I love to do it, and I love the result.

Last Feb. when I went on my group trip to DL over President's week, I decided to do a digital album, which I did on the photopass website. The editing tools and the quality were not that great, but I still love the resulting book. It ended up costing me $140, which I thought was highway robbery, but probably less than a paper scrapbook anyhow.

Well, to make a long story short...I had tried out the digital tools from CM and knew that I wanted them. I already had the CM digital "storage" system, but my computer crashed and I had trouble recovering it, etc etc.

I scheduled with my CM consultant to go away for the weekend, and then in one of her emails to me was this information about becoming a consultant. Well, I don't need a job for goodness sakes, but the cost of the digital consultant kit was less than what I was going to spend on the software anyhow. So, a few days later I stepped up and bought all my software so I could start scrapping digitally. Their books are nice and there are some great options for doing part paper and part digital, etc. I have decided that I will offer to teach all my friends that want to learn about their tools, and maybe I will get enough orders of stuff to keep my consultant status up to date so I can save us all a little money. kwim??

If you want, I can let you know when I am going to do a demo and you and E can come on up!

It's always nice to know a consultant, most definitely!!! Excellent.

Your scrapbooking sounds so much like mine...I've finished more than you, but I have more "need to do" things than I have "finished".

Jack is a huge Star Wars Fan and ever since he saw the pictures of Jedi Training, this was a must. I had done this with Nathan on our last trip and knew how well the Disboard strategy worked, so determined to impliment again. I printed out our signs, and the boys again were the only ones in the crowd with them. People were looking at them funny, but I just smiled back. And they caught on really fast when our two boys were the first ones picked from the crowd. Please people, if you want your kiddo to get picked, make a sign!
As they waited. Nathan was practicing waiving it high.

The way they do this is they divide the kids into two groups and one group goes on stage and fights Darth Vader, one at a time. The other group stays down on the ground and fights Darth Maul, one at a time. What do you suppose the odds are that out of all those kids, Jack and Nathan would be fighting at the exact same moment. It made picture taking a real challenge, but if you look closely in the above picture you can see Jack fighting Darth Vader up above Nathan.

Jack's fight was pretty spectacular and after he had vanquished Darth Vader, the Jedi Master saw that the force was strong in Jack and asked him to stay and help with fighting the storm troopers. He held Jack's light saber for him and asked him to force the troopers back with his hands. You can see that Jack gave it all that he had and he was truly in the moment.

And then they graduated from the Jedi Training Academy and swore to uphold the Jedi ways, which do not include cleaning of the room.
DSC_0127.jpg

Upon completion, I am pretty sure that we ended up wandering over to Buzz Lightyear, and ended up talking to and trading pins with the DVC folks. They offered us a playroom, free fast passes, and a comfy couch with refreshments if we went to a presentation. I was actually interested in seeing the models, so we ended up saying yes. We took the monorail over to the DLH, we stopped off at the Lost Boys Bar and let the boys drive the Jungle Cruise boats while we had $30 worth of Margaritas. Then we went on over to the presentation center. The boys were thrilled to go play on the computers. We sat down with our guide. When I mentioned that I knew an owner, and I was supposed to go to a presentation with the Divas last march, I found out that our guide Jim, was the same one that new my Diva friend Cheryl. We had a good laugh about that! Anyhow we heard the presentation and toured the units. We would all love to own.
Scott and Carrie listening patiently:
scottcarriedvcpresentation.jpg

When we were done, Jim gave us our fastpasses, and they even ordered up the van to drive us to our hotel, The Paradise Pier. You laugh, because it is right next door, but geesh, it is a mighty distance at the end of a Disney Day. We went back to our room and decided to order room service. I ordered the Mushroom soup which was fabulous and came with bread, which I turned into a peanut butter sandwich for Nathan, to go with his fries. All in all, room service is just a great value sometimes, ya know??? Afterwards, the plan had been for Scott and Carrie to go on a date, but honestly they were a little overwhelmed by the crowds and did not seem like they really wanted to go off on their own. We decided to all go together, but then by the time we reached the lobby the boys were already melting down, and it was 8:00! Carrie quickly made the decision that the boys would return to the room with Scott and she and I would go out to the parks. The boys started crying, but we dragged them upstairs and said stop this nonsense and I was a mean Mom and yelled at Nathan and then we left, and I almost cried by the elevators. Carrie quickly reminded me that they were over tired and manipulative and they probably were already done crying. I did not believe her until I realized I did not have my backpack, nor my pass, etc. So we called Scott, and he snuck the back pack out the door, and sure enough there was nothing but happiness coming from the room as too little boys played their DS's for a short while before falling asleep.

Next up...two Mom's do the late night run at DL.

Well, after having departed the hotel from our screaming (not really!) boys, Carrie and I headed to DL. We had a mit full of fast passes, and not really any other agenda. But, when we got to the gates, it was about 8ish and there were incredibly long lines. What is going on, I asked?? There was a bunch of buzz about how if you didn't have a stamp you couldn't get in! Wow, I had never seen that happen before. We wove our way to the front and found a CM to show our stamps to and they quickly let us in. We did not go anywhere quickly though. People were everywhere! Main Street was wall to wall people and the CM's were starting to rope off the walkways and herd everyone one way, and I did not want to get caught in that!
I grabbed Carrie, and we hopscotched across the people sitting on the ground, ducked under the rope and over a bench barrier so we could get into Frontierland and break free from the crowd control. Of course it did not really work that way. We did get through and my main goal was to show Carrie some of DL that she may not get a chance to see. I know we shopped a bit and looked at pins. We rode Big Thunder and Indiana Jones as well as Jungle Cruise. While we were on Indiana Jones we met a really nice Dad and his two daughters from Australia. We actually were headed down the fast pass line, and the stand by line was super long. We saw a teenage couple that was just mauling each other in the line. You know, the groping, tongue down the throat thing. Ewe! Right behind them was the Dad and his girls and I could see they were trying not to look at his couple. So I put the breaks on, and said, hey, we have some extra fast passes, do you want to come in this line? They hopped right over! Turned out they were just there for the day, but were visiting family not too far away, and did not not understand the fast pass system at all. So we explained it to them and gave them a few extra fast passes to use before they left. It was really fun to make their day.

After that we were about done in and we had Morning Magic the next day. So we headed out, and I am pretty sure it was about midnight before we got to bed.
Here we are:
Image0091.jpg

Image0092.jpg

I do know that Carrie was very glad that she and Scott had not attempted to go to the parks alone and also that I was a complete nut. She was probably right.

It was not easy to convince these new comers how important morning magic was, because they just don't believe it until they experience it. But, I knew that it would be critical today because the parks were so packed. We made it happen though and here we are, ready to go, bright and early:
100_1223.jpg

Here Nathan and I are while waiting to go in and you can see, we are still sleeping:
100_1225.jpg

The Hogan Clan:
100_1224.jpg

The plan was to hit fantasy land first and then go from there. We cut through the stores on the right, so that we could be waiting to go in at rope drop. Worked like a charm and we were off to Peter Pan. I know after that we rode Dumbo and I wanted my own elephant but Nathan insisted on driving me. If that is what you call that up and down motion that is.
We went on the teacups and then Nathan was dying to go on Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy. I had coached him on the scariness and he still wanted to go (he loves regular space mountain). Jack was not going on Space Mountain for anything, so we decided to divide and conquer. Carrie, Sott and Jack all went on the Matterhorn while we went over to Space and then we all agreed to meet up in the vicinity of Buzz. Here Nathan and I are leading the way. Nathan loved Space Mountain as usual but he plugged his ears because he thought it was way too loud! We went on Buzz a few times and then morning magic was over, so we grabbed a couple of Space Fast Passes and the rest Buzz fast passes, and headed to our priority seating at Minnie and Friends.
Again, I really enjoy the buffet and I eat my share here for sure. Nathan actually ate a pretty good breakfast here. Neither of the boys were very interested in the characters, but they sort of enjoyed watching them from afar. We actually don't have a single picture because my camera battery was going dead and the boys were not posing.
After breakfast we decided to head over to Adventure land. We wanted to take Jack on Indy, which he loved! Although we had just eaten, I really did not want to repeat the standing in line at counter service. So, I swung into Cafe Orleans and made a PS for 1:00, just in case we needed it. We then kept going, got Haunted mansion fast passes again, since we had not gone the previous day, and went and rode on Splash Mountain. Carrie did not want to go on this one, so she did a bit of looking around. When we got off, we all went on Pooh together. I swung into Pooh's corner and bought myself a chocolate carmel covered pecan thing that was big enough for two, intending to share it later, and then also a little turtle and a little truffle which I promptly ate and enjoyed thoroughly. I love that place!
On the way up the hill we stopped at the little store that sells hats and considered getting a pair of these. Settled for a picture instead:
100_1229.jpg

At one point Scott put a glow in the dark bracelet on my backpack, so he wouldn't lose me:
100_1230.jpg

I am pretty sure that we went on over to Big Thunder and took a spin. Here are a couple of pics. I love that area:
100_1269.jpg

100_1270.jpg

100_1268.jpg

It was then that the Hogans indicated that they were hungry again. Well, low and behold, I had made that reservation and we were not too far away, so we headed on over to Cafe Orleans to check in. We were seated fairly promptly. I really can't remember what we ate, but Nathan ate nothing. I did get him the Cars light up toy drink. I ate, the Hogans ate and everyone was happy. While we were waiting at our gate side table we did have one of those fun disney experiences. A Disney security guard came over and he had a children's trading lanyard. He asked the kids if they wanted to trade and they did. It was great when he scolded Carrie and told her that she couldn't get involved in his trade. It was pretty funny, and Jack did just fine! We had a nice sit down and were feeling refreshed, so we decided to hit Pirates Lair.
The boys had a great time, but I was starting to get a little tired!
Here is a hodge podge:

When we got off the raft, we decided it was time to head towards the hotel. We went to the front and I went to get us a couple of strollers. I knew we would be coming back and using them again that night. I sent The Hogan family to get a picture taken:

And then we loaded up and got our stamps as it was emphasised to us that we would need those again, and headed over the esplanade to DCA. We did stop and say hello to the family brick:

ourbrick.jpg

We entered DCA and really had just one agenda. Go on GRR and then out the door to the hotel. We loaded our stuff into the free lockers and then had a fairly short (20 minutes or so??) wait. We had a great ride, and only got mildly wet as the geysers were off. We had a young teen ride with us and she had a dog tag that she was chewing on. Jack saw it and commented, hey, I have one of those. I have type one diabetes. The girl said, yeah, me too! She was also fairly new to her diagnosis and chatted with Jack and Scott and Carrie. I think they appreciated hearing her perspective. She was a lovely young girl and it is always funny how people just come into your life.

We had just gotten our stuff from our locker and were trying to get to the exit. I think we had to go in search of Jack or Nathan, who had wandered off to the viewing area to look at the river. And then, I hear a voice calling my name and it was so fun to see Molly with Eamon on her back. I ran over and gave her a hug, because I had always liked her and had met her at the ladies trip and was just glad to see her. We had a quick intro to hubby and kiddos and friends and reconfirmed our plans for the fireworks that night and off we went.

When we got back to our room, we saw this waiting for us:
DSC_0131.jpg

We had gone on and on trying to figure out if we could get a gluten free cake, where we could have it delivered and what it would be. We almost didn't get one at all, and then Jack got all excited about getting his gluten free birthday cake, so we called back and the only way to get it was delivered by room service the day after his real birthday. So that's what we ended up with.

Jack was excited, and Nathan is always excited by cake, but it was not the right time to eat it, so we required that they lay down and close their eyes for 15 minutes, as they both insisted that they would not nap. Well.... you may have guessed it.... We all fell asleep and we slept until 6:30pm. I was the first one awake, and quickly jumped up and got myself ready, as the rest of the crew started to stir. Our goal was to be in the park at 7:30 saving our spots for the 9:25 fireworks.
Now, at this point I had two giant blisters on the top of my feet. I had brought mole skin, but no scissors to cut it, so was making do with bandaids. The bandaids and different shoes got me on my feet again, but my dogs were barking! Everyone else felt about the same way, but they rallied. We sang happy birthday, and cut and ate cake quickly. It was not that great, but served to tide everyone over for a short while. We actually made it back to the Disneyland by 7:45, which I thought was pretty good.

The crowds were already insane, and we headed to the front of the castle as quickly as we could and managed to snag a little spot in front to the right, with just one tree blocking. We lay out our blanket to save our spot but it was still pretty dog eat dog. Scott and the boys sat down, and Carrie and I ran over to the turkey leg cart because that is what she wanted. I left her there and ran to The Plaza. I had never tried the Plaza Chicken and I was determined to. After 20 minutes or so, I finally got my dinner and after exchanging texts with Molly, met her and her family over by my blanket. We all wedged in, and I handed Scott a handful of fastpasses to take Jack for a ride on Buzz. (turns out in the dark I gave him the wrong fast passes, can you believe that?) Anyhow, Nathan was out of sorts, but I gave him my roll and tried to get him happy. Finally just ignored him and let him chill, which it turned out was what he needed. Had a great visit with Molly and Carrie when she finally got back from her second journey out to get food. Turns out they don't like Turkey legs after all. I did give Scott one of my pieces of Chicken, which I think he liked. Robert was so nice. He was not comfortable getting down on the blanket with us, as his knees have a hard time getting up, so he stood guard over sleeping Eamon, and grouchy Nathan. Light up light sabers were shared by Molly and when Jack and Scott got back, Robert and Jack had a big Star Wars discussion and eventually a light saber dual. It was really fun, even before the fireworks started.

We did have a great view of the fireworks and everyone loved it, but I am still a fan of the Holiday version, and/or Wishes. (Is that the same show?)

After the fireworks, we waited for the crowd to thin a bit, and then said good bye to Molly, Robert and Eamon, who intended to head back to bed (but I understand they got way layed by some attractions that were calling their name). Then we started hitting as many rides as we could. I think we did Indy and/or Big Thunder, and then it was time to go to the Haunted Mansion. Nathan has been on this ride before, but not decorated for the holidays. He did say he did not want to go on it, but since he had been on it before, I sort of ignored him and thought he would just go with the flow. Jack and Scott and Carrie were in front of me and Nathan, and we were just going into the stretching room when Nathan freaked out and turned around to run. This would not have been a big deal except that there were another 80 people trying to get into the stretching room. I kept trying to grab ahold of Nathan so we could exit together, and the crowd sort of went crazy on me. "Hey Lady, he doesn't want to go on, what are you doing? You can't make him, etc etc..." Well, I just want to assure you all that I did not intend to force the kid on the ride. I simply did not want to let him get lost in all of the mass of bodies. I finally caught up to him and got close to his ear to let him know that we would exit together, to just hold my hand. So that is what we did, and I have to say, I was dissapointed not to get to go through.

So, we sat and waited and that is a long wait until The Hogans came out. All was not lost though, because they announced that there would be an extra showing of Fantasmic that night at 11:30, and guess what time it was??? Yep, almost 11:30! Well, turns out Scott and Carrie had told Jack that he could have a treat to bribe him to go into the Haunted Mansion, so Nathan and I grabbed a prime spot and waited. It was then that I broke out the Pooh Corner treat for two and ate the whole thing myself. I would have shared with Nathan but he would not touch it. Nathan was content as I had wrapped him in his coat and the blanket. Fantasmic started and the seats were awesome. Scott and Carrie were not there yet and a really rude lady came up and shoved her stroller in the spot that I had for them. I just ignored her, and then I saw Scott and Carrie sitting on a step behind me and they had a good view and were content, so I left them there. It was the first time that Nathan was awake for the show and he loved it! We all did. Afterwards, we headed back to the hotel. Everyone was beat, except Nathan who was getting a second wind finally and really wanted to go on more rides. I had to say no way JOSE! We all fell asleep instantly without setting an alarm. The next magic morning would have to be magical for someone else because we were beat!

I had hoped to be finished today, but will have to give it one more go in the morning. It has been fun reliving the trip and I really think I am going to get this one finished for sure!

Ha Ha! Darn it Molly, you caught me! You know I think I will go back and finish. We had such a fabulous last day, and we even saw a special friend in the park that last day! Okay, I will get to it. Promise!

Well, I said I was going to finish this report and by gosh I will, even if it is several months later...

I do think there is a mental block to finishing the report for me, in particular when there was no other Disney trip in the works, and doing the final day meant ending my Disney experience for an undefined amount of time. We do have another trip in the works now, so I guess it is okay to put the finishing touches on this report and be done!

So...when last we left you, everyone was tucked in after Midnight following a gruelling 12 hour+ park day... We had planned on skipping MM as we knew we would still be tired. But...old habits die hard, and the Rodrigue half of the group opened our eyes at...6:45!!! Can you believe it! I truly felt like a truck had run over me, but there is no going back to sleep once we are awake, so I asked Nathan if he wanted to hit MM, just the two of us. And guess what he said???

We quickly showered and dressed and ran out the door, and arrived at the park at 7:25, via the Monorail, which Nathan loves to ride. I had already decided that this would be his special day and he could direct us to whatever he wanted. He had to be extremely flexible this trip because we had been traveling with other people that had different needs, and that is sort of hard for a pampered kid that is pretty much like a first born, only child (with nearly 7 years difference between he and his older brother). He had done pretty good, and this was his reward. It about killed me though, because we could have gotten so much more done! But...I went with the flow and followed his lead, and had a really wonderful time.

It went something like this...Monorail, Teacups, Matterhorn, Buzz, SpaceMountain, Splash Mountain (on our way out from Splash Mountain, we ran into Molly and Family and had another little visit. It is so fun to talk to another dis'r who understands the disney love thing! MM was just ending, so Nathan ran over to Thunder Mountain and got a set of fast passes to give to E for later, since we wouldn't be around to use them, and he totally gets the Fast Pass mentality and the joy of pixie dusting someone with them)

After that we made our way over to DCA for opening. We took the time to grab the double decker bus down mainstreet, and we rode on the top. We stopped by and said goodbye to our brick. We were able to do the pre-opening trip on Soaring, and then grabbed fast passes on exiting to give to Scott and Carrie. We also headed out on the pier and Nathan talked me into going on the little squid ride that goes up and down (okay, just remembered, they are JELLY FISH!) and I survived it, before heading down to ride TSMM and Screamin! At this point Nathan and I were starving, so we grabbed a loaf of sourdough bread and a handful of butter and started chowing down. By then it was nearly 10 and the Hogans called. They had just finished breakfast and Scott and Jack were heading to the park.

We ran down and met them, and I left Nathan with Scott, so I could help Carrie get us all packed up. I swear, we had way too much stuff, but after about an hour we had it all shoved back into the suitcases and in the storage room, and we were off to the parks again, for our final day.

I wish I could remember what all we did. I know that I sent Carrie and Scott off to Soarin, as they had not managed to see it yet. They loved it! I am pretty sure we all did Turtle Talk with Crush. We saw Aladdin. We did Monsters again. At some point Nathan ran into Pluto in the Backlot area, and he never can resist Pluto. I know we exited to White Water Snacks and had our final meal, which turned out to be good way to end the trip. We wandered through the Grand gift shop and did some final pin trading, and when it was time to go over to the hotel and meet Harold again for our ride to the airport, we were pretty much ready to go.

I have to say...I could get used to riding around in a Limo;)

What an awesome last day of the trip you had! Especially gifting the FPs to such a deserving group of people. ;)

I can't believe you did all that in DL, rode the double decker, got to DCA, etc etc etc! You are my new hero.
