It is always difficult in these cases what to do with young children. You want them to say goodbye, but also, a dying grandparent is not something you should see at that age.
But Catherine picked the children up herself in the car. It gives me hope that the Queen won't kick the bucket tonight.

It really wouldn't matter what she chose to do, she will be judged anyway. Some will judge her for staying with the kids. Others would hae judged her if they'd taken the kids. She can't win.

Everyone has to decide what is right for their own family in these circumstances. Most of us are just fortunate enough not to have the eyes of the world un us while we do it.

I think she has already passed away, and they are just waiting for all the family to be assembled to announce it.

I think it's perfectly acceptable that the children's partner's are there, but not the grandchildren's partners. It doesn't need to become a circus. Also, most of the Grandchildren have young children. I haven't seen any reports that Beatrice and Eugenie (Andrew's daughters) nor Edwards children are going to Balmoral. Maybe it's just the more senior royals.

It will be a very sad day for my country, and I thank the Queen for her loyalty and service. There will never be a lady quite like her again.

My mom passed recently. The grand kids were not there when she passed, let alone their spouses. Actually, it was just her children at the time. Our spouses had seen her earlier. Every family is entitled to their own decisions at times like these.

When my mom passed at home, it was me, my sister, my husband, my dad, my mom’s best friend, and my 2 sons (daughters were at dance class or else they would’ve been there, another daughter was away at college). Oh, and her nurse of 1 week who we hired at the last minute who ended up staying as my dad’s caregiver (Alzheimer’s), it took us a year to finally figure out the “nurse” was crazy. Good times.

No matter where one stands in regards to the Royal family, this is a family who may be about to lose their much loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. They deserve as much privacy and respect as any other family dealing with such an event. My heart goes out to all of them right now.
