Queen beds in value vs moderate resort

hi! My family and I are going to Disney world for our second visit in Jan 2019!! It will be my husband, myself, 8 yr daughter, 5 yr daughter, almost 2 yr son. I'm trying to decide between value and moderate resorts. I know we will not be able to stay in a value with double sized beds-we need at least queens!! Can someone tell me which value resorts have queens? With the renovations I can't understand the changes! Also, what is your experience with these value resorts-love or prefer a moderate!? Thinking port Orleans vs value. Any information would be so helpful!! (Our last visit we Rented a 3 bedroom villa using DVC at old key west for multiple families-so I don't have any experience/knowledge of the values!)HELP

We have stayed at POR, POFQ, and Pop. I always thought I would avoid the values, but the renovations made the rooms at Pop SO nice!! We are actually going back to Pop this October because we liked the new room so much. Between POR and POFQ we liked POFQ more. It's much smaller and we liked the overall theming better.

All Star Movies just started renovations and are currently working on the Toy Story buildings. They are also putting in queen beds. I think you have to decide if you want to save money (value) vs. have a resort with a more relaxed feel and a boat to Disney Springs (moderate).

All of the rooms at Pop will have queen beds. They are working on the last few buildings now.

They just started at all star movies.
The biggest differences between value and moderate besides the bed size is the size of the room and amenities at the resort.

Por has a table service restaurant along with slides at a pool and a hot tub.

At All Star Music the bed in the main bedroom in the Family Suite is either a queen or king (can't remember). We don't like double beds either and really like having the second bathroom so we always stay in a Family Suite if we are doing a Value Resort. We love having a separate bedroom while our son uses the pull out sofa in the common area - he can come and go as he likes without waking us if he stays late at the parks.

I've only stayed in the values pre-renovation but the room size definitely feels a lot smaller than the mods. I'd imagine they are even tighter now with the queen beds (when the second bed is down.) With 5 people, it will likely be a tight fit. At POR if you request Alligator Bayou, you will have an additional 5th murphy bed which is nice.

I don't think you can have 5 people in the Standard rooms at the Values.

You can if one of the people is under 3, as in the OP’s case.

No there are still some there. Not very many, but there are some.

We are hoping to get one in October, but we made our only request early check in because we would rather have that.
